"Mina, can you put that pencil down for just one second!"

I looked up at the blonde female in front on me. I had a sandwich in one hand and a pencil in the other. I swallowed the chunk of food before I began to speak, "what's wrong?"

"You've been scribbling the whole entire lunch time!" Anna was visibly annoyed.

We were in the cafeteria, sitting down in our regular seats. Usually there were a few more people with us, but they were busy with clubs.

"I can't Anna! I need to jot some notes about baseball or Mark is going to have my ass!"

It's been two weeks since the whole ordeal and Mark was still a tightass. He would yell at me for basically everything.

He would say stuff like, "Mina, you don't even fucking know what a battery is? No it's not an electrical device! Google it right now! It would be a waste of energy explaining it to you." or "you're completely useless, just fucking stand there and watch!"

He could've just told me the term battery refers to the pitcher and catcher, but no he had to make a big deal out of it.

Jerk.

So far his verbal abuse hadn't subsided. It went to the point where the coach would give me a sympathetic look that would say, "deal with his stupid personality."

The other people in the team would just pat my back and shoot me pitiful looks. Ethan, the centerfield (I learned about everyone's position the second day) would tell me that he'll loosen up eventually.

I highly doubted that.

Connor, the second basemen, would laugh telling me that I would get used to his gruff nature.

I also highly doubted that.

"I rather not have your ass." A deep, husky voice said and I jolted in surprise. I tilted my head up towards the ceiling, my eyes widen to see the one and only, Mark. I coughed a few times before saying anything, "I didn't know you were there."

"Right."

"Give her a break, Mark." I turned my head a bit to see Luke smiling ever so happily. I couldn't tell if he enjoyed the situation I was in or he was just a very happy person.

Before I could say anything he sat at our table, next to Anna. I thought Anna would be overjoyed at the idea of a hot guy sitting next to her because Luke was...attractive.

I was mistaken though, she was fidgeting with her fingers and staring at her food as if it was the most interesting thing in the world. I raised an eyebrow, usually if a hot guy spoke to her she would twirl her hair and flirt a bit (though I do believe her flirting skills are a bit interesting, it involves laughing really loud at a stupid joke). So having her avoid all contact with Luke was pretty amusing to see, before I could say anything Mark grabbed my notebook and frowned.

"Hey!" I shouted as I realized he was now sitting next to me in close proximity. A very uncomfortable distance if you asked me.

"You had the whole weekend to learn more about baseball and you only have four pages written."

I gritted my teeth, "I'm the manager, Mark dear."

Oh and I began to have a habit of calling him Mark dear every time we fought. He would always scowl when I said that and I was content to know I had pissed him off.

I continued speaking, "I'm in charge of taking care of injuries, bringing water bottles and towels. I don't need to know how to play it."

"I don't know why you're even called the manager." He seethed.
