Him, Her

Chapter 8

His Pov

*After 7th period*

“What’s up with Alice?” Robert looked at me funny.

“She was being all mean in French and I have no idea why.” I looked at him.

“Well you did kind of break her heart. You know, just a tad bit.” I sighed.

“I know! And it was a stupid decision! I should of listened to Matt and followed his stupid dare-” Robert stopped me and grabbed my shoulders.

“YOU WHAT?”

“I uh I-I kinda followed a dare that Matt dared me to do.” I said in a small voice as I stared at my shoes.

“HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO ALICE? DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH SHE CARED ABOUT YOU? DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH SHE CRIED OVER YOU? HOW HALEY AND I COULDN’T EVEN GET HER TO COME OUT OF HER ROOM AND ALL YOU COULD HEAR WAS CRYING?”

“I DIDN’T THINK IT WOULD BE THAT BAD. ALICE IS STRONG I THOUGHT SHE WOULD BE OVER IT BY NOW.”

“SHE MAY BE STRONG BUT SHE’S NOT THAT STRONG. You broke down walls of hers that have never been broken down before Jake. When you dumped her that hurt her, badly.” He looked at me.

“Look Jake I got to go. If I miss the bus my mom won’t be happy.” He started to walk towards his bus.

“Wait Robert!”  He turned around.

“What Jake?”  

“Do you think I could get her back?”

“Maybe but you have to give her time to heal first. And then you have to give her time to trust you again. And then maybe, MAYBE, you could get back together but I don’t think that, if she accepts you again, I don’t think she will until at least summer break.” I thought it over.

“Okay, thanks Robert. Really thanks.” He just looked at me, turned and got on the bus. Way to say good-bye. I walked over to the board where the bus numbers were written.

“Where is bus 10?” I muttered. I found where it was and I walked over. I got on and just sat down in one of the seats. Robert’s words kept playing through my mind.

“And then maybe, MAYBE, you could get back together but I don’t think that, if she accepts you again, I don’t think she will until at least summer break.”

 I pulled out my IPod and just put it on shuffle, leaned my head against the window, and closed my eyes.

Hi guys! How are you all? I'm doing okay but I am pretty tired. Which is why I am going to bed right now and also why this chapter is short. 

So I'm off to bed!
