Tragic

A few weeks has passed since I visited Jen's house, and we were now in December. It was still early in the month, and snow was already falling. The roads were always slippery with ice, even though it got cleaned multiple time a day. Today was Friday and Ms. James had invited me over for another movie night . The last bell finally rang so I made my way to the bus stop, snuggling as much as I can into my jacket.

Once I reached Ms. James house I rung the doorbell once before she opened and smiled at me. " Sienna, it's always great to see you dear." She said giving me a hug.

"Anyways I have to run to the supermarket to get us some snacks do you want to come with me or stay here?" She asked.

"I'll just go with you." She gave me the car keys and told me to wait in there for her while she gets her jacket.

We were driving for about 10 minutes when the car started to slide on the ice. Ms. James tried to control of the car but it was no use. We kept sliding, I held the door handles as tight as I can. Ahead of us a big white van was in the same predicament. However, it was coming straight towards us. When Ms. James noticed she turned her head towards me with a watery smile on her face. "I'm so sorry Sienna." That's the last thing she said before the van hit her side of the car.

It was all a blur, my mind spinning endlessly. I don't know if Ms.James said anything I couldn't concentrate. Once the car hit the van it skid along more ice and hit another car. Car horns blaring in the distance. I couldn't see straight it felt like I was in a daze, I looked to try and see Ms. James but all I saw was red. Blood everywhere glass sticking to her.  I looked down on myself and I didn't look any better then she did.

Then a man appeared by the window trying to budge the door open. He looked frantic. He was pointing towards the seatbelt but I couldn't move even if I tried. Another man appeared beside him also trying to budge the door open. The car we had hit had lit on fire behind them. The car was engulfed in flames. The men became even more frantic. The car door was dented in from the second hit.

In the distance siren could be heard. However, I didn't care honestly. Maybe this was my way out, I just hoped Ms. James would survive. I didn't know if she was breathing I tried to pick up my arm but it just fell limply at my side. The sound of sirens was becoming closer. By now the whole car was on flames and it was probably gunna spread. I heard the screams of people. Probably the ones stuck behind the accident trying to get away before the flames spread. The men gave me a helpless look before leaving.

It wasn't long after the men ran that the fire spread. The firefighters came running trying to put it out. A few came to the car and starting working quickly to get us out. I didn't know if anyone was in the flaming car. I prayed that there wasn't , that would be a brutal way to leave. With the tools the fire fighter had he got Ms. James out first and yelled something to the firefighter trying to open my door. A few seconds later I was being carried away. The smell of burning flames engulfed my nose. The smoke invaded my lungs and made me have a coughing fit. The firefighter carried me to a waiting stretcher.

Once I was laying down he started running to the other firefighter putting out the fire it was going down but not by much. The fire had reached Ms. James's car and soon it was also in flames. Another firetruck soon arrived while men moved quickly to help the others. It was all a daze to me I was unable to move or speak. My head was the only thing that could move and even moving that was a slow movement. A medic came to check on me and put a mask over my face . I watched as a different medic was covering Ms. James's body. When I saw tears started slipping through my eyes. There was also a man on another stretcher with a face mask. I barely even registered the freezing weather. The medics started putting me in the ambulance van and started prodding my skin was some needle.

"You'll be ok sweetheart, just breathe in and out for me." The medic said to me in a soothing tone that didn't really help soothe me.

I didn't know what happened to the fire raging outside this van. I was losing consciousness and fast. My body was starting to relax from whatever was in the needle . I looked up at the medic and she gave me an encouraging smile. My mind become totally blank. I was then thrown into the dark. I didn't see anything, it was all dark and my eyes finally closed and I no longer thought about anything. I was relaxed and calm, my mind was at ease. With that I was out of the world and plunged into the dark....
