Good Match (A sokeefe [kotlc] fanfiction)

Chapter Eight

a/n: Eep. I can officially write sokeefe scenes because they're officially together and everyone knows! *squeals* Also I was looking through the books for Dex's mom's name, basically skim reread everything and I think it's Juline because in Everblaze Edaline says something like, "Its what they asked of Juline and Kesler when they wanted to get married." Obviously not exactly that but whatever. I'm keeping it Juline. 

Fun fact : the name Valin means Monkey King. I was looking up baby names to get some new names for the characters in a book I'm writing and I laughed so hard.

Not reread and I only looked at one website for name meanings so sorry if I got a meaning wrong:

"Hey Sophie, here to see Dex?" She nodded. "He's up in his lab with Biana."

Sophie smirked. "I figured. How's the shop going, Kesler?"

"It's the same, stuffy nobles squirming when they enter and leaving as quickly as they can, but always coming back another day," Kesler said with a proud grin. His shop was like a fifth baby to him, after Dex and the triplets. "Did you hear?"

"What?"

"Remember that bad match that got married last year?" Kesler asked

"Yeah, Biana's old friend Maruca and her boyfriend. . . Valin, I think," she said, thinking of the odd couple. Maruca manifested an ability and was very popular, especially with her parents in the nobility. Valin was part of Jensi's old friend group and was very nerdy and unpopular. His parents weren't part of the nobility and he didn't have an ability. Nobody thought they would happen.

"Maruca just gave birth to twins yesterday," Kesler said with a grin. "Oh, the irony."

Sophie grinned. "Less focus on you and Juline,"

He laughed. "Yeah, it's better. Anyways, I don't want to hold you so you can go up to see Dex." A burp sounded from the front of the store. "Just in time, let me go see what the customer needs."

Sophie grinned at him before going to Dex's lab. She walked in to see Dex tapping an elixir bottle and Biana standing next to him with a wide grin. "Hey guys," Sophie greeted.

"Hey, did we have plans I forgot?" Dex frowned.

She shook her head. "No, I just got bored." She looked at Biana with an amused expression. "More 'device sharing' I see," she commented sarcastically.

"Oh, yeah, about that-"

"Shut up, Dex. Biana already told me. Congratulations." Sophie rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, but our relationship isn't like yours and Keefe's anyways. We've never kissed and you've kissed, let's keep track here. . . I think you told me five times?"

She grinned. "Seven now, actually."

"Aww, you keep track of your kisses! That's so sweet!" Biana squealed. Her Imparter started beeping and she took it out, before a frown appeared on her face. "Maruca's beeping again."

"Again?" Dex questioned. "Why is she beeping?"

"I don't know, I haven't talked to her since her wedding," Biana commented.

"You know, she just gave birth to twins yesterday," Sophie pointed out.

"Really? Oh! I'll call back, now I feel like a jerk for never answering!" Biana groaned. She called back and Maruca answered immediately. "I'm sorry I haven't answered you," Biana told her.
