The first three days, I just help with the chores at home or going to Costco or Wal-Mart to buy some things that are needed. I sometimes just sit down and watch TV. I think I might have gained some weight. On the afternoon of my fourth day, my aunts came home with ‘good’ news.

“Allie sweetie! We’ve enrolled you on Upland High the other day and today we’ve received news that you are accepted,” said Aunt Amanda, excitedly.

My brows furrowed in confusion. “But I’ll just be staying here for three months and they’re already in their last semester. It’s near summer for them before classes are done.”

Aunt Amanda rolled her eyes and said, “Of course we know that. You’ll be just sitting in at that school so that you could do something to spend your time with. You’re just wasting your time here sitting in front of the television doing nothing. You’re becoming a pig.”

“Ouch. This baby,” I gestured through my body, “is not a pig’s body.”

Aunt Lorna shook her head. “Besides, you’re not going to be graded there. And you can make a lot of friends, too. You’re not going to lose anything at all. You even gain some benefits.”

Aunt Amanda nods her head in agreement.

I think of it for awhile. Sure do, I’ll meet some new friends and learn some new things. But that means I’ll have less free time. But will it be worth it? Of course, it will! Damn yeah, I’ll attend the school. Maybe I’ll even meet some hot jocks and attend crazy parties. I’m so going to take this chance to explore what I’m missing in the real world.

I looked at my aunts and told them my answer. “I’ll definitely attend school. And, can I have a part-time job? I want to save some money so I can buy my own things.”

“Sure can do, sweetie. So you’ll be starting on Monday. Just go to the office and find a Mrs. Cameron, they said. She’ll give you your schedules and will have someone to tour you around. And about the part-time job, what would you like to do?”

“Babysit maybe? I think I can handle kids, or babies. They’re easy.”

“Okay. I’ll ask around in our neighborhood.”

“Okay. Thanks Aunt Amanda and Aunt Lorna!” I hugged them both.

“Now, you cook dinner,” Aunt Lorna said, pulling away from the hug.

“Sure thing, boss,” I gave them a salute and took off towards the massive kitchen. What does doctors and dentists earn these days? Diamonds, maybe?

The next day, I decided to change my routine. I woke up extra early and changed into some jogging shorts and a white tank top. Since my aunts are still sleeping, I wrote a note saying I’ll go jogging and magnet it on the large fridge.

The cool morning wind welcomed me as I stepped outside our porch. The minute I reached the street in front of our house, a brunette guy came out from the house next to us. I can’t seem to recognize him because the last time I was here, the house was occupied by a nice old lady.

The guy started jogging towards the street and before he reached it, he noticed me. Good to know that I’m not invisible.

“Hi, there!” he greeted me with a warm smile. Wow, he’s almost as gorgeous as Josh.

“Um, yeah, hi,” I was too busy checking him out to notice that he’s already in front of me.

“My eyes are up here, beautiful,” he smirked.
