The old haveli on the outskirts of Sikar was silent except for the occasional chirping of birds. Hidden away from the world, three people sat in the living room-Captain Rajveer Singh Shekhawat, Gunny, and Arya.
What was supposed to be a peaceful morning had turned into a nightmare for Rajveer.
Not because of enemies.
Not because of missions.
But because of Lieutenant Naina Singh Ahluwalia.
Gunny was sitting on the sofa with his phone in hand, grinning like he had just won a lottery.
Arya sat beside him, equally excited.
And Rajveer...
Rajveer was trying very hard to pretend that he didn't care.
Unfortunately, nobody was buying his act.
"Rajveer bhai..." Gunny called dramatically.
"Hmm."
"Dekho na, kitni pyari lag rahi hai bhabhi red gown mein."
Rajveer didn't even look up from the file in his hand.
"Main kaam kar raha hoon."
"Achha?" Arya smirked. "Toh phir pichle do ghante se wahi page kyun dekh rahe ho?"
Rajveer immediately looked down at the file.
Same page.
Again.
Gunny burst out laughing.
"Busted!"
Rajveer glared at him.
"Chup."
Gunny ignored him and opened Naina's latest Twitter post.
The engagement pictures.
The pictures that had successfully detonated a nuclear bomb inside Rajveer's chest.
And the worst part?
Naina herself wasn't present in any of the posts.
Only the pictures.
No caption.
No explanation.
Just enough to drive him insane.
Gunny zoomed into the first picture.
The woman in a red dress standing beside a man in a black suit on a balcony.
"Arya, dekh dekh..." Gunny laughed. "Kitni romantic photo hai."
Arya nodded dramatically.
"Wah bhai wah. Lagta hai engagement pakki hai."
Rajveer clenched his jaw.
The file in his hand crumpled slightly.
Gunny noticed.
Arya noticed.
Everyone noticed.
Except Rajveer, apparently.
"Photo number two!" Arya announced.
The man holding the woman's hand while they danced playfully on the staircase.
"Awww..." Arya sighed loudly.
Gunny placed a hand over his heart.
"Sach bolu Rajveer bhai... mujhe toh ladka kaafi handsome lag raha hai."
Rajveer's eyes narrowed.
"Gunny."
"Haan?"
"Zinda rehna hai?"
