SHIELD Base, Virginia, Apr 2013
Alex knew what was needed now and she could not say that she liked it. But it had to be done. For Bucky. "Soldier", she barked in her best commando voice, "get your guns down and follow me" Obedient like a puppy he put away the weapons and followed her to the prepared room without making a fuss, though keeping his attention on the surroundings, searching for possible threats. If she wasn't so scared right now, it would be funny really. She was only 5'6'' tall, significantly smaller than him, yet he accepted her as his superior without a second thought. Alex didn't know whether that gave her hope or made her fear even more.
When they arrived at the sparsely furnished room, the first thing Alex did was closing the door. Then she turned to Bucky. "Give me your weapons" The Scottish ordered. After putting those away, as well as her own, she said: "Relax, Soldier." Alexandra smiled at him, settling against the wall. "Do you know who I am?" Bucky nodded. "Officer Alexandra Elaine MacDougall, Royal British Airforce, supposed to be assassinated in 1943 by me. Because you meant something to someone I once was." She nodded. "True." For a moment they were bith silent, then Bucky said: "Request permission to speak freely, Ma'am" Alex nodded. "Sure. And don't call me Ma'am." "Of course, Ma'am." He waited a moment, then he asked. "Who am I?" Tears welled up in her eyes at his question. Wandering from the wall to sit on the plank bed, Alex started. "Your are Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes, you were like a surrogate brother to Captain Steven Rogers, also known as Captain America, you were part of the Howling Commandos..." The Scottish sighed. "And you were my lover."
