Chapter 2

"Hey gorgeous" Closing my locker door I hope Adam is talking to me but he's not even looking towards my direction.

"Shut up you idiot" Sarah replies back with a smirk on her face. Sarah is my other best friend. We became friends when I stopped some girls from bullying her. She's really nice and Adam the guy that I'm in love with just so happens to like her to my dismay.

"Oh come on...you know it" He tells her with a wink. She rolls her eyes and takes hold of my arm. Sarah knows she's gorgeous as well. With her nicely bronzed skin, warm brown eyes and supermodel body she's every guy's dream.

"Let's get out of here Zoya" She says to me. Looking back at Adam he now has his gaze on me and is giving me a puppy dog look making me smile instantly.

"Are you really going to let him get to you?" Sarah asks with a small laugh. Letting out a sigh I ease back from the both of them and put my hands up in surrender.

"I'm not going to let him get to me" I say to her. Adam scoffs and walks over to me putting his arm around my shoulder making me have breathing problems like always.

"You know I'm irresistible. Tell her Zoe" Adam says while looking at Sarah. He's looking at her the way I want him to look at me: with lust. I know that Adam really likes her and she likes him back. Sarah just wants Adam to run after her.

She even told me. She goes that she wants Adam to run after her the way girls run after him so he knows what's good for him.

"I...I think I should go" I say. Adam takes his arm off me and gives me a confused look.

"Where are you going? Lesson hasn't even started yet" He declares.

"Actually I think I should be going. I need to go and freshen up in the toilets, meet you there Zoya" Sarah gives me a wink and flirtatiously walks away leaving Adam to look after her as usual.

"It would be really nice if you could just for once stop flirting with girl's around me" I say a little too harshly than intended.

"I'm sorry...you know I hate it when she plays hard to get. I know that she wants me" He says arrogantly. This time I'm the one to roll my eyes and am about to walk away when he grabs hold of my arm. "Zoe, I'm sorry. I know the reason why you don't like and I'm an idiot for doing it" Trying to ignore the past feeling I plaster a fake smile on my face.

"It's ok. If you are going to do it then please let me walk away"

"I promise you that I won't ever flirt with Sarah in front of you. I need my best friend by my side all the time" He says with full honesty in his eyes.

"Promise?"

"To your heart and back" I let out a small laugh at his declaration while he lets out a small laugh as well.

"I should go meet Sarah up then. I'll see you in class"

"Zoe, wait. I need to ask you for a huge favour. I know that you aren't go-"

"Spit it out Adam"

"Please tell Sarah to go out with me" Disappointment and hurt once again rips through me just like the other days at his request, He wants me to ask my friend to go out with him. He really doesn't see the way I feel for him and that's what hurts the most out of it all.

"Adam...you know what she's like"

"Come on Zoe. You guys are all girly and stuff together, she'll listen to you for sure" I know that she will Adam, that's why I don't want to ask her.

"Adam....come on"

"Please Zoe, for me" He pleads with those bright eyes of his.

"Ok" He says yes and pulls me in a tight hug making my feet leave the ground. He spins me around a couple of times and puts me down on my feet.

"Now go" He gives me a slight push. I stick my tongue out at him and he does the same thing. This is probably the worst moment in my life but if it makes Adam happy then it makes me happy.

Opening the door to the girl's toilets I walk in to see that it's just Sarah in here fixing her hair.

"What took you so long?" She asks with a smile.

"Adam" I respond back.

"Sometimes I wonder how you deal with him"

"Trust me I don't, you would do a way better job than me" I tell her. She's about to put on her lipstick when she stops halfway looking at me through the mirror.

"What do you mean?" She asks confused.

"I mean that...I think you guys would be goof together" Lies and pain. That's all I'm talking right now.

"Really, you've never said anything like that before"

"I've wanted too and I guess now's the right time" Lie.

"Hmmm, I'll think about it"

"You should, you'll be the golden couple of the entire school" Lie.

"I'll take your word for it"

That's when I broke down emotionally from the inside.
