Together, Forever!

Chapter 6

"Zoe!" I hear him yell from the back of the hallway. I stop in my tracks and turn around to see a running Adam with Sarah besides him. I had the urge to roll my eyes but held it in.

"I'm so so sorry for not texting you last night" Adam says out of breath as he holds onto my arm making my breath hitch up.

"I wasn't expecting anything Adam" I respond back with a fake smile. He gives me a sad look as Sarahnow approaches us.

"I'm sorry Zoe, I really am" He says meaningfully. If he really meant it then he would have remembered.

"Honestly Adam, it's all good. I was tired last night anyway" I say looking over at Sarah. Even she's stopped hanging out with me ever since her and Adam got together. I'm losing everything now.

"I know how to make it up to you. I can help you in our free period we have together for your application" He says with a bright smile.

"I've already applied Adam" This is true as well. I did everything last night after that talk mum had with me and it gave me a good wake up call. I really do need to move on.

"Really, you applied to the backup ones as mine's, didn't you?" He asks with a gleam in his eyes.

"I applied to a university in London" I tell him. His bright face immediately drops. I know what I just said shocked him and I have a need to tell him that I'm really sorry but I can't.

"W..what do you mean you applied somewhere in London. We were supposed to go together to the same university Zoe" The bell suddenly rings saying it's time for next lesson.

"I'll see you both around later" I say with a fake smile towards Sarah who looks a little surprised. Looking back at Adam once more his face is still the same as I walk away from the both of them. It's for the best; all of this is for the best I remind myself.

I love you Adam but I can't keep hurting myself.
