The two held my arms back as I ran for the windowpane. I hear her terrified screams spread across the front of the building. Gosh, the barrier, please don't disappear. He forced my head to look out the window, no no no. I let her die, just like that. I should've tried harder. How stupid of me!
"Noooooooo!" I cried agonizingly. It burns my heart when I see other people, even if they're not related to me, just die like that. Death sucks, it totally stinks.
"Jess!" Jackson yelled, which was hard for me to hear clearly. Zach and Robert point their guns at my direction. Mr. Andrés stretched me out farther with his huge hand on the back of my neck.
"No, don't shoot!" I yelled with little air.
"Think we're stupid still?" Mr. André from my right asked tauntingly.
"What? Don't do anything stupid, I beg you!"
It's like my first day at the academy, except anything was possible that day. Now, everything's impossible.
"Jess!" Leah and Ace yelled, pained as I forcefully made my way out of the window. No, I can't die just yet... nothing is nearly finished. Suddenly, everything was dark and grim. All variety of colors obscured by the unexpected blackness.

It's been a while since I was in complete darkness... oh wait, I still am. What am I still doing here? I don't know where I am, just eternal black. No direction or configuration, no shape or color, no nothing. Who am I? Have I changed? Is this what change feels exactly like? I guess disappearing/ changing and death have the same rate of sucking.
Wait a sec, there's a voice, or a distinct sound of someone calling. Is it my name? That doesn't sound like my name, my name is... my name is... Shoot! My name, it's gone. How is this possible? My name is lost... missing... inconspicuous. Nowhere to be found. My mind kept on chasing for it, but it drifted away like a floating bubble. It popped and it was gone.
I awaken to the sound of continous rhythmic beeping. There it is, beep...beep...beep...
I slowly open my eyes with a lot of effort, seems like my eyelashes are in desperate need of trimming, they felt like two-thousand-pound weights that heavily stood on my eyelids. I could only take a peek, which was kind of useless because my eyelashes served as shrubs as well. Come on, eyes! Just open up, what are you so afraid of? So far, I can only focus on one and one thing only: waking up completely so everyone would believe that I'm awake. Speaking of everybody, where is everyone? It sure is quiet in here, and who am I referring to as everyone? Who brought me here? Where am I? I mean, obviously, I'm in a hospital, but where exactly?
There has to be a way for me to open my eyes, all I see is the fan spinning slowly and blowing absolutely no air mounted on the white ceiling. It's so hot in here, I could feel every piece of my skin crying. Hot sweat flooded the top of my head. My hair was like a cornfield after a hurricane attack. I don't know which way my head is directed, everything was diagonal all of a sudden.
Suddenly, a gargantuan hand simply places itself around my neck. However, I cannot feel my neck. I can feel it move slowly to my right, but my skin seems to make no contact. Is this a super-thick marshmallow wrapped around my neck? It hurt as it moved, like my spine had never stretched in a lifetime.
"Hey, buddy, how'ya been?" He greeted with a wide and surprised smile. That's the person with gargantuan hands. I thought he'd look like an MMA fighter, but it was just some guy with sandy brown hair and nerdy glasses like mine. Speaking of, where are they anyways? "Can you hear me?" I pouted, which was a way to tell him that I understand.
But I open my mouth slightly and mumbled, "Yes."
"Hey, guys! He's awake!" He yelled across the room. Scattered voices occupy the other side of the confined room, despite having six unmade beds settled next to each other at both sides of the room with four other patients rested on their sides.
An asian kid that looks about my age appears next to the doorframe with his hand slipping on the doorframe, only revealing his left side. He slightly shifted his whole body further. He shivered as he walked closer.
"Hi..." He bowed his head down as reluctantly waved his left hand. "Are you okay now?" I cleared my throat and whispered, "Good."
By the looks on their faces, I can tell that they're concerned.
"Who are you? " I said finally.
"Jess, what are you talking about? It's me, Robert." The tall one said.
"Robert..."
"It's Ace, don't you remember me?" The asian kid said, worried.
"Sorry." They looked brand-new, even when I stare at their scars and bruises swept across their faces.
"You can stop playing now. We know you're just messing with us."
"I'm very serious right now. I don't what's goin' on. Were you the ones who brought me here?"
"Robert, what's happened to him?" Ace asked.
"Can someone tell me what's going on?" I asked, freaked out and feeling my stomach churn.
"I don't know how else I'm gonna put this but..."
"But what? If you saw something strange or unusual, I swear I have nothing to do with it." I sounded guilty of something I didn't do. I hope they don't find out about my abilities. I'd get experimented on, or get exterminated!
Robert elbows Ace and expected a good lie from him.
"I have powers!" He bursted out, cupping his mouth in fear. Robert's eyes widened and smacked Ace's head hard.
"Powers? What powers? What are you talkin' about? You guys might be on drugs or something."
"Ow!" Ace complained. I kept quiet, not because I didn't want to answer more questions, but because my filter was empty. I had to say something.
"What's in my mouth? It hurts when I talk." I said. No kidding, it's like a million bee bites.
"Jess, it's infected," Robert said as he calmed down.
"Ewww. It's so swell and violet!"
"Ace, get out. You're no help!" He gets out immediately, detested by what he had seen.
"Is he always like that?"
Robert shakes his head a little and bites his lower lip. His glasses crooked with one lense knocked off.
"So... you fell out of a building, broke your neck, slightly fractured your right arm, your left leg is dislocated, and your piercing's infected." Robert said, pushing his arms down my bed.
"When did I get a piercing?" I cleared my throat.
"I don't know, Ace knows for sure. I mean, you were with him for a quite a long time when the clones attacked." "Huh?" I mumbled under my breath, sounding confused. "Walk me through what happened. Please."
"Why don't we start with the last thing you remember before this?" He pulls a chair and sat next to my bed.
"The last thing I remember is... is... getting locked inside my room. Then I sleep, then I remember someone waking me up. That's all."
"Woah, this is gonna be harder than I thought." He sighed with both of his hands pressed against his forehead and his eyes widening in stress.
"Well for starters, your brain was shook and altered. Couple of days ago, your vision was normal, no sickness, no pain. Everything was fine."
No pain, I thought. That would've been nice.
