She never let go of my hand. Her hand turned hot as well. I didn't care if it was sweaty. I sometimes have to bite my lower lip whenever I get excited. Having to spend some time with her felt like I never wanted the moment to end. Like, can there be at least a minute where time froze and Eiffel and I would be the only ones capable of moving?
"This is a beautiful day," she said, "I wish it lasted forever."
"What, are you telepathic?" I said jokingly.
"No," she scoffed, "I guess you're not good at keeping secrets after all." She laughed. I clench hard on her hand until she screamed in pain.
"Stop!" she still laughed, even though in pain.
"You see, this is a promise you can never, ever, ever tell anyone. Even my friends."
"And your mom."
"Don't ruin the moment." I sound serious.
"Sorry."
We put our shoes back on and headed back to the hotel. I couldn't stop staring at her eyes as we walked. The green and the blue, so exquisite. She's unique. I maybe a failure in mutation, but she's a success. So glorious-looking.
"I can't help but notice, but I like the way you stare."
"What do you mean?" I didn't take my eyes off the most marvelous creature.
"You look at me in the way a girl would dream a guy would look at her. Perfect."
"One thing about me is that, I don't believe in perfection. I used to believe in it, but I realized that I had to grow up."
She remained silent.
"I'm sorry. I can be a little dramatic at times." I apologized.
"No, it's okay." she finally spoke. "I think it's interesting, hanging out with a unique-mannered young man."
Hanging out, I thought. Soon, everything faded as the thought consumed me. I slowly released her hand. I wonder if it bothered her.
"We better hurry," I say, trying to change the topic if I ever needed it to be changed. "They might be worried." "Yeah." she sighed.
"One more thing-- do your friends have powers too?"
"Um... that's enough secrets for one day." I said, trying to stay away from her guilt-striking questions.

My hands sweaty still after going back to the hotel. I wished for Eiffel to stop asking for more secrets of mine. I felt my ribs ache someone bumped into me. Has all the pain come back after all these months?
I stood there with Eiffel after I pushed the elevator button. We came in after nine people got out. As the doors were about to close, I drop my bottle. It rolled over to the closing doors. The cold plastic squeezed against the two closing metals. I yanked it out as soon as another squeezed through the door. And another. The first one stepped on my hand on full speed, like I never felt it. But I did feel the person's foot instantaneously crush my hand.
I stand back up, rubbing the dust off my hand on my thighs. My shins still dripping with cold water.
"What floor?" Eiffel said generously to the two people.
I leaned back and the two people and I, at the same time, looked at each other.
Zach and Alice.
