Bumpy Cobblestone Road

When Adonis woke up, he was lying down in a very soft pile of leaves in the back of a moving wagon. He sat up in a panic and took a moment to absorb his surroundings. He recognize the uneven cobblestone road they were on because it was the only road that led to his secluded village in the middle of a weeping willow forest. He turned around and found himself facing a very familiar head of long silver hair. But he was struck with confusion because he couldn't remember why the hair was so familiar. The driver hit a rather offset cobblestone on the path and the wagon rocked violently from side to side. Adonis reached out to brace himself on the walls of the wagon, but loudly winced out in pain as soon as his hands made contact. He examined his hands and saw that they were wrapped in an off-white cotton with spots of maroon seeping out. "I see that you are awake. I took it upon myself to take you home seeing that your little friend put you in such bad condition." "What do you mean by little fr... HEY! I remember you. You're that library aren't you?! What was that thing?! What happened to my hands?! And what do you mean by little friend?!" The librarian spoke calmly. "Calm down Adonis, I know you have a lot of questions."
"HOW DO YOU KNOW MY NAME?!" Adonis screeched out. He had never been so confused in his entire life. "I know much more than you will ever be able to understand. When we get to your house, I won't answer all of your questions. But for right now, I want you to relax and get some rest. Okay?"  Adonis was extremely overwhelmed, yet he felt compelled to agree with the old man. So, mid panic, Adonis took a deep breath and let him so laid-back and leaves. Lifted his hands up in front of his face and began inspecting the deep red passion is seeping out of the cotton. He peeled back the piece by his palm and saw the gruesome scene. his palm was blistered and his fingertips were raw. Adonis grimaced, rewrapped his hands, and drifted off to sleep.
