A/N.: This is a prompt I received on tumblr "I want Kaylor one shot stuck in an elevator? Are there any? :D :)". Well, now there is!

---------

"You know what? Go! I don't even care."

"Are you seriously mad because I have to leave for WORK? I told you it's an emergency."

Karlie tried to keep up with Taylor as the singer grabbed her purse and made her way out of her apartment. They were supposed to spend the whole weekend in Nashville, having planned everything weeks ago and both were excited to have some quality time with each other. However, in the middle of their weekend, Karlie's manager called her last minute saying there was a little accident with one of the models on the set of Mario Testino's photoshoot, and, being one of his closest friends and partner, Kloss was his first choice to replace the girl. She couldn't say no, said her manager, the shot was a really big deal and she couldn't leave the photographer hanging.

So she let her professional side take over and accepted the offer. It was the right thing to do, she knew it, but that doesn't mean it was something easily understandable. Not for Taylor, apparently.

"Yeah, I know what kind of emergency this is." Taylor walked to the elevator leaving for Karlie to lock the apartment door behind them. She couldn't believe Karlie was going to spend the weekend they planned together away from her. And with Toni Garn to make matters worse.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Karlie was starting to get really annoyed by her girlfriend's tone.

"Nothing, nevermind."

Taylor kept pressing the button as if it would make the elevator come faster, she woudn't let the model see her jealous. Karlie grabbed her hands to stop her, but the singer kept pressing it with her other hand. They were both angry with each other and they didn't even know exactly why.

"Stop!" Karlie gripped her girlfriend's wrists. "Tell me what's the problem, you never act this way when I have to leave for work."

Taylor ignored her and pulled her hands away releasing herself from Karlie's grasp as she entered the elevator. That just made Karlie even more nervy, but she held herself from saying anything. It would just make everything worse.

Taylor pressed the L button and they waited for the doors to close. The girls were distant from each other, phisicaly and emotionally for such a supid fight. Karlie stared at the numbers above them as the elevator descended.

16... 15... 14...

The silence was deafening as neither alowed themselves to look at the other's direction.

10... 9... 8...

"It was an emergency" Karlie tried again.

"Yeah, a Toni emergency", Taylor said under her breath, but Karlie was able to hear it.

"What did you say?" The model's tone was already defensive with her friend being mentioned.

"Exactly what you heard!" Taylor burst out.

"I told you she's just my friend!" Karlie coudn't hold her angry anymore. "I'm tired of you not trusting me with her, this is my job!"

"Fine! And I think I'll invite Jake to star in my next music video with me!"

"That's not the same..." Karlie lowered her voice at the mention of her girfriend's ex.

"Yeah? Explain me the difference, please."

Karlie wasn't even able to answer however, because as soon as the sentence left Taylor's mouth, the elevator lights went out and they weren't moving down anymore.

"What the fuck..." Taylor gripped the walls, startled with the abrupt stop.

The taller girl heard Taylor's voice by her side, but she couldn't see her girlfriend's face. It was really dark and she started to feel the walls around them squeezing her, suddenly making it very hard for her to breathe.

"Miss Swift, there was a blackout in the city and our generator broke..." Came the voice from above them, probably an emergency speaker. "But don't worry, we're doing everything possible to fix it and we'll get you out of there."

The singer pressed the radio button before she replied.

"Okay, I get it, no problem", Taylor's voice was rather calm, but that didn't soothe the girl beside her. The little emergency light shined above them, making it possible for them to slightly see the outline of each other's features.

Karlie searched for the singer's hand and grasped it tightly trying to hold on to something, anything.

"Kar?" Taylor heard the girl's heavy breathing and was quick to remember the last time they got stuck in a small room like this. That was the day Karlie told her about her crises of claustrophobia. "Oh shit! Okay, calm down you're okay." The singer faced her girlfriend, cupping her face with her hands as she tried to soothe the girl. "I'm right here, babe, take a deep breath, c'mon..." She looked right to her girl's eyes and exagerated her breathing so Karlie could follow her.

Breathe in... Breathe out...Breathe in... Breathe out...Breathe in...

That seemed to work after some moments and Karlie was finally capable of breathe properly. Her eyes started to water and Taylor knew it was just a post crisis crying, but she still hated to see the model in that state.

"It's okay... We're fine..." She wrapped her arms arround the crying girl and let their bodies slide down on the elevator wall till they were sitting on the ground. "It's alright..." Taylor kept saying generic things until she felt Karlie's sobs quieting down on her arms. She rubbed the model's back and gave little kisses on her head, knowing that Karlie was far from calm right now.

They continued in that position for minutes, the model's head on Taylor's chest, her arms hugging the singer's waist. It was a weird situation, but it was conforting nonetheless. It would always be like this when they were together, no matter how crazy the things could go, Taylor and Karlie would always be each other's confort.

"I'm sorry..." Karlie's voice came out so softly, Taylor woud never hear if they weren't in complete silence. "About ruining our weekend, you planned everything and-"

"No, Karlie, don't. It was so stupid of me to be mad at you. It's your job, and I understand." Taylor gave her a sad smile.

"But I know how you feel about Toni." Karlie didn't want the singer to get jealous over her friends, and she usually wasn't, but the singer had this misterious aversion to Toni Garn. "I don't understand it, but I know you don't feel confortable with her. I'm just asking you to trust me."

"I do trust you!" Taylor said firmly, their eyes never breaking from each other. Taylor lifted Karlie's chin with her fingers and kissed her delicate lips, putting all the love she had for her girlfriend into it. "I trust you with all my heart..."

"Good, because I love you." Karlie said against the singer's lips when they broke the kiss.

"I love you too" Taylor smiled.

They leaned towards each other to continue the kiss. A few moments later the emergency light went off and the girls quickly stood up.

"If I knew a broken elevator could solve our problems so easily I had provided one months ago" Karlie said when the doors opened in front of them.

"Well, I guess it would be very useful." Taylor blinked at her girlfriend and they laughed as the people on the lobby stared at the two giggly girls heading out of the building, not even paying atention at the protestant dwellers around them.
