"Shit shit shit shit shit" Karlie pulled the hood of her coat tightely around her head trying to protect her face from the pouring rain as she ran through TriBeCa streets.

She hadn't predicted this apocalypse at all. With the sun having practically burned her skin as she walked out of her house in the morning, it was just logical to think that by the time she wrapped up her group project it would be a still warm and nice weather outside to have a walk around New York City. It was the least the universe could do after the most stressful day she's had in a long time. She deserved a nice walk.

Karlie coudn't have been more wrong.

It was dark, the streets were empty and silent and the sudden storm created a deafening noise making it impossible for her to hear anything other than the sound of the water fiercely pounding the ground. Her socks were already soaking wet, her hair damp and her clothes weren't even protecting her from the cold anymore. She still had to run another 15 minutes if she wanted to get home...

Well not necessarily, she thought, Taylor's apartment is just a couple blocks away. Karlie wasn't sure if showing up at her girlfriend's door completely out of the blue was a good idea. Actually she was pretty sure it wasn't, since she didn't even know if they were in good terms after their last fight.

Karlie was just about to decide going home when the rain increased considerably, the wind now throwing the water directly on her face. Oh, fuck it. She turned the corner runing faster toward her girlfriend's house.

Her heart was pounding in her chest by the time she got to the lobby. She inhaled a sharp breath before climbing up the stairs: at first, two at a time, then slower as she got near the top. She's a millionaire and her apartment doesn't even have a functioning elevator. She thought as her lungs screamed for air with each step she took.

The thunders got louder as Taylor watched the storm seeping the city through her balcony. When a particularly huge lightning flashed on the sky, closer than she expected, Taylor quickly got back to her living room, startling her cats with a loud noise when she slid the door shut with much more strenght than needed.

Just when Olivia was about to sit on her lap asking for atenttion, the door bell rang making Taylor run towards it.

"Who is it?" Taylor asked when she didn't see anyone through the peephole.

"Katy Perry, open the door so we can fight"

"What the-"

When Taylor finally managed to open the door and look at the girl standing in front of her, her heart dropped. Karlie was barely able to stand up straight, she was shaking from her head to toe, her teeth gritting. The big coat she was wearing apparently did very little to prevent the rain from soaking her whole body, proof of that being her still dripping hair and her abnormally pale skin.

"Surprise..." Karlie's shaky voice came from her trembling lips.

"Oh my God, come inside now!"

"Taylor-"

"No, you're not talking right now. Take this off."

"I'm fine" Karlie insisted taking off her coat.

"Shush" Taylor put her index finger over Karlie's lips silencing her. "Let me take care of you, okay?"Taylor pleaded with her eyes and Karlie couldn't deny her.

"Okay." She whispered back.

She let Taylor drag her to the main bathroom after having taken off all of her wet chlothes, lightly laughing at the singer's complaints of how little chlothing she could be wearing in a storm like that. Taylor smiled at the sight of her girlfriend of 2 years still blushing when she asked her to lift her arms so Taylor could take off her shirt. After a couple minutes Karlie was finally standing in only her underwear with her arms crossed and shivery legs as she waited for the blue eyed girl to fill up the bathtub.
