Violet P.O.V
After an agonizingly long day of school I ran home and climbed through the window so as not to be noticed by my father. I heard a knock on the door downstairs and knowing my Dad would never answer I opened my window to see a woman sitting on my doorstep.

"Hey" I call out ,not really knowing what else to do.

The woman looks over at the sound of my voice giving me a smile that looks slightly forced. I climb back out yhe window and cross my arms over my chest. Something clearly wasn't right.  She sighed and dragged her hands down her face, she looked exhausted. After a small pause she stuck out her hand

"Luna"

"Violet" I say after an equally long pause.

Luna looked at me, "I suppose you're wondering who the heck I am and why I'm here."

I nod she had basically read my mind with that statement. Luna stared at her hands for a minute.

"So your father was arrested this morning for a stabbing in the grocery store."

My brain immediatly floods with thoughts. I'm not really fazed by this, I know I'm not old enough to live by myself but it's not like my father ever took care of me anyway. Luna doesn't seem surprised by my calm reaction.

"Violet,  I know what went on at home here. I know how hard this has been for you. They would appreciate it if you spoke at the trail. However If you don't feel comfortable with that I will."

I look down, I'm not sure how I feel about this.

"Luna I appreciate you coming over telling me this, I really do."

She delivered the news much gentler then the police would have.

"But Luna, I still really don't know who you are and why you are the one telling me all of this."

I was confused. Luna sighed for what seemed like the hundredth time.

"I know you won't remember me, I left as soon as I was old enough to go, you weren't even born then, but Violet," she says looking into my eyes "I am truly sorry that I wasn't there to help and protect you."

She glances down guiltfully and slowly bring her eyes back up to mine, looking nervous. "I guess I haven't been a very good sister, huh."
