Chapter Six
"I, um, hi, uh, Louis?" I stuttered unsure of what to say. I really wasn't expecting him to call.
"Hi" he replied simply.
"You called" Oh really Abby? I thought he flew! Focus! This is important!
"Yeah, I didn't wake you did I?" He asked, he sounded concerned.
"No, I was watching TV anyway" I shrugged.
"Oh good, look I just wanted to apologize" He told me.
"Apologize?" I questioned.
"About the other day, I guess I was just..." He trailed off trying to find the word so once again, like always, I jumped in.
"Shocked, surprised, nervous, angry, betrayed, annoyed, confused" I suggested not realizing I was saying it.
"All of the above" he said with a chuckle.
"Its fine I understand" and I did. I mean come on, how would you react? Exactly.
"Well still, it kind of occurred to me that its every adopted child's dream to meet their real parents and I kind of ruined that day for you" he sounded so nervous.
"Its fine, I really do understand" I told him.
"Good, well now that that's out of the way, I was wondering if we could hang out sometime, I'd really like to get to know you Abby" my smile only grew, my brother wanted to hang out, he actually wanted to meet me.
"I, um, yeah, that would be great" I stuttered again, taken back by the offer.
"Great, so tomorrow, would you like to come over for lunch? The guys will be out so it will be just us" I nodded not having the voice to speak. Then I realized he couldn't see me and I looked like a freak. Nice one Abby!
"Uh, yeah, of course" I choked out.
"Great, I'll text you the details in the morning, around one yeah?" He asked.
"Sounds perfect, thanks Louis" I smiled into the phone.
"No worries, I'll see you then"
"Yeah, see you" And with that we hung up. My smile only grew and I dropped my phone on the couch doing a little happy dance in my seat.
"Someone's happy" I stopped dancing and looked up to my mum.
"He called, we're meeting tomorrow" I grinned.
"I told you he'd come around, so I guess I will have to find something else to do tomorrow" she smiled.
