Chapter Fourteen

“So you really won't tell me where we’re going?” Harry asked for the, what felt like, 100th time. I just laughed again and shook my head, my eyes still focused on the houses and roads around me. Even though Harry had no idea where he was going or even how to get to my home town, he insisted on driving the two of us. What would usually be hardly three hours, had added an extra half hour due to Harry’s accidental missed turns or taking the wrong road. Yet he refused to let me drive.

“I told you enough, its in my home town and just around the corner” I grinned, after three and a half hours we were only two blocks away from the destination. I grinned to myself as we got closer, I wonder what Harry will think? “A right up here” I pointed out the road.

“If I'm going to find out soon enough, why won't you just tell me now?” He pestered taking the right turn.

“Because you have five minutes to wait” I laughed and he left out a joking huff, “It’s a left here” Harry sighed and took the turn.

“You know if you told me where it is all you’d have to give me is a map and I could make my way there, or you know the GPS” he pointed to the GPS in his car that would have given him immediate directions instead of us stopping our conversations every moment so I could state which turn.

“Its just up here” I grinned sitting up more in my seat, Harry looked at me from the corner of his eyes then back to the road.

“You really like this place don’t you?” I could see him looking around the street full of houses and a few shops for the place we’re going.

“It is my favourite place” I answered with a smile, I saw exactly what I was looking for and grinned as I watched it approach.

“Park there” I pointed to the spot in between two blue cars. Funnily, I recognized them and knew who the owners were. Harry pulled up then looked through the windscreen at what we were parked in front of.

“Your favourite place in the world, is a church?” Harry wondered in confusion, I let out a laugh and got out of the car.

“Come on” I shoved my hands in my leather jacket pockets and nodded my head to the right as I walked away from the car and towards the church.

“Now that I know your favourite place can you at least tell me why its your favourite place?” Harry pleaded eying the large church.

“This isn’t my favourite place” I stated with a laugh as we turned to the side. You could see the back of the big hall slightly but I know Harry hadn’t noticed it yet.

“Well then what is? Why are we at a church?” I swear he is a child, all the car trip he was asking ‘Are we there yet?’ “Hey, what's that?” Now he notices the hall…

“That’s my favourite place” I grinned. The hall was pretty big, practically on the corner so we could go through the back along the side of the church; it was an old building, just like the church but only one story.

"What is it?” he asked as we stepped closer, I reached the back door after the three grey steps and opened the door with a sharp pull.

“Guess” I smirked as I walked in. I heard the chatter of the women and men talking as we made our way through the back room. A few tables and chair were scattered around but nothing that would give away an answer to him. Photos were displayed along the walls however, would have given you a straight answer, but Harry wasn’t paying attention.

“Oh my gosh! Abby!” Annabel screamed running up to me and wrapping her arms around me causing her sandy hair to come flying into my face. “I haven’t seen you in forever, where have you been?” If I had any friends, this crew would be it. They were older than me, but a lot nicer than any of the people I met through school. But I guess you have to be to be here.
