Chapter Forty One

“I can pay” Jake argued as I tried to explain I was capable of paying for myself. 

“I’m paying for myself, you can pay for everyone else but not me” I rolled my eyes. 

“Whats this?” Joe came around the corner, he stopped short when he saw me sitting in the seat across from Jake. 

“Abby wants to pay for herself but I want to pay for everyone” Jake explained like he never stopped. 

“Well thats kind of you” Joe grinned, “Do we have a spending limit?” He chuckled and Lora came around behind him.

“Apparently we don’t, although I don’t quite believe it” Lora poked Jake in the side as she sat in beside him, stealing the only other chair that wasn’t beside me. 

Joe took a glance at the seat beside me before glancing at Lora than at the still mute me. He coughed awkwardly before taking the few steps and sitting down beside me.

“So how was the video?” Lora asked me. 

“It was incredible, it was really a lot of fun, they boys were, well, I guess Zayn’s told you” I hope he has, it was weird enough seeing it let alone trying to explain it. 

“Told me what?” Lora asked. 

I shrugged, “Nevermind, its hard to explain how crazy it was, you should come to the next video shoot, it’ll be really fun” True that I didn’t know what the next song was going to be but with the boys it was always fun.

“How’s Harry?” Jake asked changing the topic. 

I sucked in a breath and I could see Joe’s head snap down making my heart race faster. He had to of found out by now, there was no way he could react like that and not know. 

“He’s good I think” I shrugged, “I haven’t really spoken to him since early yesterday, I left back to Niall’s before they all finished so I didn’t get much time to properly talk to the others, why?” I couldn’t help the curiosity. 

“Just wondering, Louis and Zayn I spoke to earlier but Harry wasn’t there, I was just wondering if you’d spoken to him” Jake’s eyes roamed the menu but his hidden meaning was clear in his voice. I just didn’t know the meaning.

“Well, I think I know what I’ll have” Lora eyed the menu, “I’m going to guess you’ll have the pancakes as always Abby” I nodded my head then she turned to Joe who was still grazing the page, not seeming to concentrate. 

“Pancakes of me too” Joe put his menu down.
