Alexa

"Don't worry hun it's your first day I doubt they'll mind if you're late." Moms words echo in my head.

Sighing frustratedly I walk down the hall searching for the office, shouldn't they have someone to lead you to the office on your first day? I mean it would make more sense rather than having new students roam the hallway looking for it themselves.

While thinking I must've not been paying attention to where I was walking because before I know it Im falling to the ground and landing on my butt.

"Keep your head up sweetheart." A voice says mocking me.

I look up to see a green eyed boy smirking down at me. His body figure is a bit slender, he's about 5'11 and his hair is full of neatly done curls.

"Already checking me out I see." He chuckles.

Before I can respond I take the chance to notice his thick English accent. A jerk from The United Kingdom? That's new.

"First, you should also watch where you're going and second I was not checking you out I was carefully examining your body figure."

After processing the words I realize that I just admitted to "checking him out," I curse and mentally facepalm myself for being so stupid.

"Here let me help you." He grabs a hold of my hand and pulls me onto my feet.

"Thank you and can you tell me where the office is?" I ask trying to end this conversation as soon as possible.

"Right behind me sweetheart." He moves to the side giving me space to walk.

"Thanks and by the way Im not your sweetheart."

"Not yet you aren't." He winks walking the opposite direction.

What a shame, such a cute boy with a terrible personality.

"You must be Alexa Smith correct?" The secretary asked me while handing over my schedule.

"Yeah that's me although I prefer Alex."

"Well you have a great first day Alex, you should be heading to your second period right now." She smiles and shoos me off and out of the office.

Hearing the bell ring I jump and see the hallway swarm with seniors pushing through the crowd to get to their next class. I try desperately to squeeze through the tall jocks as I huddle against the steel lockers. One of them falls back squishing me and doesn't even notice until someone pulls me from under him causing him to fall against the lockers.

"First day?" The gray eye girl questions.

"Yeah." I say still catching my breath.

She grabs onto my hand pulling me through the crowd until we reach the end of the hallway where there aren't as much people.

"Lets see what you have next shall we?" She puts her hand out as I hand her my schedule.

"Gym I happen to have the same thing, lets go."

Rushing down the next hallway my shoulders slam against other people who are blocking the way, sure I'd apologize but this girl is making it difficult to do so.

"Can we slow down just a bit?" I call out to her.

She hears me and stops rushing but instead walks beside me giggling.

"Sorry I forgot to introduce myself, I am Elizabeth but you can call me Liz."

"Nice to meet you Im Alexa but please call me Alex." I say dodging someones swinging hand.

"You sound so proper, loosen up why don't you, we're seniors." She raises her hands enthusiastically causing her to accidentally hit someone.

"Sorry Tanner." She tries to keep in a laugh but it comes out as we walk away.

"I know we're seniors but Im the shy type, it takes me some time to loosen up." She nods her head letting me know that she understand.

Rounding the corner she pulls me into the girls locker room and heads to her locker.

"We can get you a locker after gym class, did you bring any shorts with you?" She asks looking at my bag.

"No, I didn't think about that."

That's another mental facepalm Alex, how could you've not thought about that.

"Well you're lucky I always carry two pair just incase something happens to the other."

She pulls a pair of thigh length black gym shorts from her bag and hands them to me.

"You can change here, but I know you'll be more comfortable changing over there." I look to where's she pointing and see stalls.

"Thank you, I'll be back."

Rushing into the stall I hang my bag on the hook of the stall and remove my sneakers. Taking off my knee ripped black jeans I fall to the side losing my balance.

"Are you okay Alex?"

"Yeah, I just lost my balance but Im fine." I assure her.

"Okay Alex you have to stop being a klutz and make it through this school day without injuring yourself." I say quietly giving myself a pep talk.

I fold my pants and throw them into my bag unlocking the door.

"It took you long enough." Elizabeth groans pulling me towards the gym.

Once we burst through the gym doors all eyes land on us, I put my head down trying to avoid the attention.

"Gillies and?" The coach calls.

"Alexa Smith." I finish off for him.

"Smith, you're new so I'll excuse both you and Gillies for the tardiness but I expect for both of you to be on time Thursday." He strictly demands.

I nod my head obediently and move over to the bleachers with Elizabeth.

"We usually play dodgeball so prepare yourself. By the way where did you transfer from?"

"Boca, Florida." I tell her while tying my hair into a ponytail.

"How do you like the transfer so far?"

"It's something to get use to but I can manage." I chuckle.

Before Elizabeth can speak she's cut off by the coach.

"Today I've decided to play dodgeball, again, you guys have been sitting on your butts since this morning. Now get into a line so I can pair you with your team." He orders.

Elizabeth and I rush into a line having a person stand between us so we can be on the same team. As we exchange knowing looks I notice the green eye boy coming my way.

"Good luck sweetheart." The nameless boy whispers, his lips touching the skin below my ear.

I squirm under his simple touch and bite back.

"The one who's going to need luck is you."
