Chapter 3:
"Where are we?!?!" I heard Maddy scream, as I began to regain consciousness. We were all on the floor, in some kind of small room, with only a window at the top of it. All the light we had was coming through the window, and that was just the light from the moon.
"I don't know!" Emilio said. I stood up and felt my way around the room. It couldn't have been much bigger than a small bedroom. There were a few shelves on the walls, and a small cot in the corner of the room. I knew it had been a small child's room at some point. I looked around at my friends. They were all squished up against each other. Riley, Jake, and Emilio looked scared out of their wits, their eyes full of terror. Maddy and Hayley were silently crying, their faces painted with tears.
"Guys, were gonna be okay", I mumbled.
"How do you know that!" Maddy yelled back at me. "How can you be sure?"
"We will be okay! We just have to find a way to get out. Now I think this was a kid's room, so there should be a door somewhere! But where?" I thought out loud.
"No, your not getting out that easily," we heard a deep voice say. "We have you here for a reason."
"And what would that be?!?!" I exclaimed, feeling more powerful than I am.
"Ooh we have a tough one here, don't we? Well if you must know, we have trapped you here to collect ransom from your families. See, this is what we do here at our little house outside of Chicago. We shoot out the bus tires as they drive by, and almost always, someone comes out to stretch, or enjoy the 'environment' or whatever. That's when we take them, and get rich."
"Are you freaking kidding me?!?!?" Jake said as he stood up next to me. "So your just gonna keep us here until our families pay the ransom money? Really? We are 17!!! What are you gonna do with us if our families don't pay the money?!?" he was yelling now.
"Great question, Ginger. Our plan is to simply dispose of you. Now if there aren't any more questions that relate to you being trapped here forever, I've got to find some more prisoners. Have fun with you friends while it lasts, Ginger." and he was gone. I don't know what came over me, but all of the sudden I knew we wern't gonna make it out alive. I slumped to the floor, not knowing what else to do, and I just cried. I sat there and cried. Riley and Emilio came over to comfort me, while Jake comforted Hayley and Maddy. We all ended up crying our selves to sleep, and I had a terrible dream.
I was running. I didn't know where I was running to, I just knew I needed to get away. As I passed the trees in the forest, each one had a different one of my friends names on it. I stopped to look in horror as the same deep voice filled my dream. "Have fun with your friends while it lasts." I spun around to see who it was, only find no one there. But when I turned back around to look at the trees, I saw all of their names crossed out... with blood. I heard the voice again ,"Nice try, but your too late."
