*Liam’s Point of View*

For the first time in what seemed like forever, I was dancing so much my ankles and arms hurt. My face was cramped from smiling and laughing but I couldn’t stop. Amy didn’t care if people were watching her. She just danced as if she was alone. I decided to follow her lead and just let go, which was something I didn’t do very often. This decision resulted in sweat dripping from my forehead and my ankles aching wish a laughing Amy in my arms.

Suddenly the music slowed to a Jason Mraz song.

When you’re needing your space to do some navigating, I’ll be here patiently waiting to see what you find. Cause even the stars, they burn. Some even fall to the earth…

I pulled Amy slightly closer to me and we swayed back and forth, her head resting on my shoulder. A slow song came on just in time for me to catch my breath. I felt Amy’s heart beating heavily. I knew she’d never admit it but she was getting tired and probably massively thirsty.

“Amy?” I said. She looked up, her eyes sparkling with color. Her eyes were bluer than usual. This morning when I walked into the café they were almost green. At the apartment they were gray. But now they were definitely blue. “Yeah?” she asked.

“You need a drink?” Her eyes widened at the question but she shook her head. “Nope.” She said. “I’m fine.” I rolled my eyes. “Liar. You just don’t want me to buy you anything.”

She shrugged. “Yeah well, what can you do.” I grabbed her hand and took her to the bar. I pulled out her stool for her and she tilted her head in a slight nod as a thank you. One second she’s a crazy rave dancer and the next she was a pristine and proper young lady.

“What do you want?” I asked. She looked at the menu on the wall. “Um…” she said. I just remembered she had never been to a pub. “Never mind.” I said. “I got it.” The bar tender came over, wiping a glass. “Pick your poison.” He said, smiling. Amy looked down at her folded hands, seemingly bashful at the fact she didn’t know how to order a drink. “Two Guinness’s.” I told him. Without questioning our age, he happily got us two large glass mugs of the alcohol.

“What’s a Guinness?” Amy asked. I opened my mouth to answer and Harry walked up. “It’s a type of beer.” He said, sitting on the other side of her.

“Hey,” I said to him. “That bird making you feel any better?” He looked a little lighter than he had before, the poor Hazz.. “Nah.” He said, grinning cheekily. “But she sure is trying.” I laughed. It was rather ironic Harry managed to get all the girls. He wasn’t even attracted to half of them. Speaking of attraction, I looked to Amy. Son of a… Her glass was already half empty.

“You want mine too?” I playfully asked her. She showed no bothersome by my joke but smiled. “What, I’m just thirsty.” She said. I nodded. “I could tell.”

We heard ringing of a microphone then the DJ’s voice. “Alright, who’s having a good time?” A chorus of drunken voices cheered in response. “As you all know, Saturday night means karaoke! Well first up we have a regular here at “Up All Night”, it’s our boy Niall Horan of One Direction!” The screams that followed were piercing, but I was used to it. I looked at Amy to see how she was responding.

She was laughing. She laughed a lot. Generally, she was a happy girl or so it seemed. As Niall stepped up on stage and approached the microphone I saw something flicker in her. I wasn’t sure what it was. It looked like she was remembering something or, I don’t know, looking at an old photo.

“What’s up my craic, I’m Niall. And for you lovely crown I’m gonna sing a 1D classic, More Than This.” A few girls cheered in recognition. Of course, he would sing this song. This was how he was going to capture Amarie’s attention? Classic. As the music started I saw him searched for the ginger girl in the crowd.
