*Liam’s Point of View*

Now that was fun. Exactly what I needed from a night out. It gave me a chance to breathe and get some fresh-well, not fresh air-but air.

“So…” Niall said as I lay down on the couch in our hotel room and repetitively through a ball into the air, and catching only to throw it in the air again. Niall, Zayn and I shared a hotel room while Louis and Harry shared another (surprise, surprise). Zayn was off somewhere doing Paul knows what and I was telling Niall about my exhilarating night.

“She just took off running down the street in her heels?”

I laughed at the thought. She ran weirdly. A bit like a frightened zebra or a duck. But it was cute and didn’t seem to slow her down. “Yeah, pretty much. It was completely unexpected but fun.”

Niall opened a bag of chips and sat down the chair across from me. “Go on…” he said.

I shrugged. “Then we saw the movie and I held her hand.” It was actually quite comforting. I liked knowing I could comfort her. I don’t understand why she was so nervous. Tons of guys must be lining up to hold her hand, and she chose me?

He groaned. “Boooring! Get to the dirty stuff.” I stopped throwing the ball in the air and sat up. “First of all, that’s a little inappropriate Second of all, there was no dirty stuff.” He looked surprised, what, because I was such a man whore.  “Are you serious?” he asked. “Did you even kiss her?”

I looked down. She said she was okay with it. In fact, she practically showed me it’s what she wanted. But I couldn’t help but feel I had taken advantage of her, that it was too soon. I’ve only known her a few days. Maybe it was too fast for her. Stop. I thought to myself. They’re two different girls.

“I kissed her.” I said. Niall nodded in approval. “During the movie or after?” he asked. I sighed. “After. At her door. It was kind of her idea.”

He raised his eyebrows. “Wow, you do like her.” I rolled my eyes. “Well I certainly wouldn’t go out with a girl I didn’t like now would I?” I threw the ball at him and in spite of him holding a bag of chips, he caught it with one large hand.

“Hey, don’t get all violent on me. Just asking.” He dropped the ball at the side of his chair. “Besides, I thought you weren’t ready to date.” I groaned. “You guys have been telling me for weeks to take a chance and go out.”

He laughed. “Yeah, but none of us thought you’d actually do it. We thought you were waiting for Dan-”

“Don’t you dare say her name!” I yelled cutting him off. I could barely think the name of the girl who shattered my heart, let alone hear it. Her face popped into my mind. So god damn close to going a day without thinking about her! Stupid Niall.

He raised his hands in defense and instantly stopped smiling. “I’m sorry. Come on, I’m sorry.” I looked at him. So innocent, and fragile. I couldn’t bear to hurt his feelings.

She could bear hurting my feelings.

I felt my eyes sting and I swore under my breath. Why the hell did I have to be so sensitive? This had been a wonderful night and now my entire great mood was ruined. I thought of things that would make me feel better. I thought of babies with mustaches. Louis on twitter. Zayn’s bed head. Toy Story. Chocolate. I should really get some of that later.

Amy.

Her laugh. Her silly jokes that sounded like they came from Harry. Her smile. Her obvious coffee addiction. How she grabbed her necklace when she was nervous. How I make her nervous. How she just randomly decided to run away from me down the street. The goofy way she ran. Her wit. Her kiss. How she was so persistent but in a polite way. How she said she was there to talk to even though we had been complete strangers. How there are people like her in the world.
