Her darkened eyes fluttering open, Rowena awoke to the pounding against her forehead. Her hand glided towards the agonizing pain as she gradually sat up against the back of the wooden bed. Slowly, her surroundings came to her; the silk bed-covers, her eleven cuirass and her black-wood bow. When she brought her eyes to the open balcony, she discovered that day had changed to night- too quickly for her liking.

However, the moon rays cast down upon her crystal engraved windows which shone like the stars in the night sky. A small smile curved onto her lips, but soon dissipated as a knock sounded upon the door. "Tula." (Come) She spoke roughly as the smoke from the dragons fire was still clinging to the back of her inflamed throat. Soft footsteps entered her room as Legolas appeared from the door, his golden hair sweeping around his right shoulder.

"My father would like to speak to you, elleth." He smiled reassuringly as he could see Rowena's eyes widen at the sound of him wanting her to see the king. As she sighed deeply, she thought about what the king had in store for her..."He would like to see you now." Taken out of her thoughts, Legolas smiled one last smile and disappeared behind the door.

"By the gods above..." Rowena groaned and face planted the pillow she had held before her. It was soft, like his hair, silky, like his skin. But for some reason she thought about the colour of his eyes. They were nearly white, if it had not been for the tinge of light blues.

She finally decided to rise from her bed, groaning and aching in pain. Opening her closet, she pulled out a ruby, velvet dress that outlined all of her curves and flowing down to the floor. She then brushed her hair and double braided it to the sides of her head( like most elves do). Whatever does he have for me?

--Time skip--

"I told you. Get those things out of my woods, otherwise there will be harsh consequences!" Through gritted teeth, king Thranduil bellowed and stabbed, of what seemed to be, a dagger into a wooden table. Silenve contorted through the palace until a staggering elf spoke. "Y-y-yes sire."            "Good, glad we discussed it. Now get going."

As the guards trotted in unison out of the palace, Rowena stepped forward into the sunlight as she stood in the darkened hallway, standing left to Thranduils throne.  "Ahh, Rowena. I was starting to wonder when you were going to wake up." He stood up straight, smiling as he did so at her presence. Gracefully, she strode over to him and curtsied, for his authority as king in this kingdom.

"Not everyone can sleep forever." she giggled slightly at her comment. The king chucked as a smirk rose upon his face. " I could with you though." His reply made Rowena cheeks immediately flush red while she pursed her lips together, making them a thin, white line. To this, Thranduil cocked an eyebrow. "But anyway, I brought you here because I thought that you would have needed something to revive your taste buds." And with that, he snapped his fingers together and several maids turned his table into a beautiful dining table with many edible delicacies upon it.

"My king...this isn't-"                                                                                                                                                          "Rowena." A stern look had now replaced his cocky one, instantly making her gulp in reply. Without hesitation, she began towards the table as a maid pulled one of the wooden chairs out for Rowena. She quickly sat down- as did Thranduil opposite her- never taking her eyes off of her fiddling, delicate hands. "I have not seen you eat for ages, Rowena. You will fall ill otherwise." He tried to push her to eat something and, as being the king, handed her a plate of cheese and freshly picked grapes.

"I'm not hungry." Rowena mumbled, pushing the plate back towards him. Defeated, which is highly unlikely of him, he sighed heavily and rose from his seat. "Come with me, Rowena." Flushing red, she did as she was told and got up from her seat, following him from behind. She trailed him from behind for a little while before they had reached the kings chambers.

Rowena held her breath...
