If there are any Skyrim fans out there, you should know what dragon I'm trying to describe here in this chapter... XD

Many months had past, maybe even a decade. Only autumn and winter had struck the kingdom of Mirkwood. Rowena, however, had made herself known among the people of her new home. She had become one of the most skilled hunters in all of the realm and has even now begun a hunt for the kingdoms most precious venison.

Resting upon her palm sat a magnificent bow, wonderfully crafted from the all powerful black-wood that came from the darkest corner of her new realm. Its string was made from superior deer sinew; this is very rare around these parts of the world as this deer is only conceived once every century. The limbs were shaped with several pointed spikes and end in curves ornamented with dragon talons.

The handle lay, wrapped in obsidian and decorated with ebony coloured raven feathers. Also, the large quiver was made from thick, black leather and was supposed to be worn around the archers belt -but, in this case, Rowena positioned it upon her back. The outside was ornamented with polished, white animal bones, which may have been a greater significance to the archer than others, being one of the most skilled hunters and all.

In the hands of a master archer, such as Rowena herself, this bow is capable of firing arrows of up to seven-hundred metres, while still retaining strength and lethal power within its firing rate.

Even though she was a skilled hunter, she still had to have some protection behind her back. A group of guards had accompanied her to the woods that lay just beyond King Thranduils palace. the dark and withered trees acted as a canopy above their heads as they quietly strode through the misty space below them. Like the gaping jaws of death, the groups of elves ventured further until they saw flashes of white before them.

"Tampa!"(Stop!) Hushed Rowena, throwing her hand behind her, signalling them to slow to a halt. Before her eyes, she caught glimpse of a large, breathing figure. Its skin was that of scale, clearly as black as night and consisted of humongous wings that shaded its body from the beating sun.

Suddenly, an eye as red as fire blazed through the trees and stared back at Rowena, who, by this time, had just realised that she had moved from her spot about three to four metres away. As she her breathing hitched, a low, rumbling sound came from the trees beyond her and the shadowy beast had rose to its fall height.

Behind her, she could hear the gasps of the other elves. While they stood their in awe, one elf stepped forward and whispered in her ear, " Should we not go back and tell my father what lays in the forest?" This question had come from Legolas, the kings son. Obviously, that would be a very smart idea, but at the same time, Rowena wanted to show how brave and courages she was by slaying this beast.

Pondering on that thought, the creature had now made its way forward, leaving wreckage and destruction behind it. "Ndengina ta! Asca!" (Kill it! Now!) Rowena boomed as the creature proceeded towards them all, roaring along the way. Gaping open, its mouth held large, jagged teeth as it started to build up fire within its throat, orange embers floating over its bottom jaw. Quickly, Rowena drew out an arrow and let loose of it, when it was pulled back fully. The arrow whistled through the air as it pierced through the beings blood red eye.

Howling out in pain, the dragon, as it was, waved its head back and forth, sending her across the forest floor. Her vision was blurred, but she was still able to witness what was going on in front of her. She could see the other elves tackling against the beasts wrath and all tried to reach her aid. This was short lived, however, as most of the elves were driven backwards and only Legolas stood behind it.

Rushing over to her side, he quickly withdrew a small ivory horn, softly blowing into it as it let out a loud booming noise. He then quickly brought Rowena up to his chest and spoke. " I have called for help. We wont loose this fight, I can assure you." His words were spat through gritted teeth as if he had hated the fact that the monstrous beast had burdened one of his people with injuries.

As if on cue, a large bunch of elven soldiers had surrounded the beast with sharpened spears and swords, the horses standing bravely against the great creature they opposed. Just then, a familiar voice was calling out for Rowena and a figure upon a brown, muscular elk. She knew who this was, but was too far away to answer. Her surroundings began to fade and she soon fell into a puddle of darkness.
