We quickly made our way to Derrene; the city of Light Magic. Derrene was the first major city we arrived at that was wealthy. It was also home to the best hospital in the Netherworld; Life Garden Hospital. By the time we made it to the hospital it was well past Dawn. We rushed in and already found a waiting room full of Uppers from the auction. Some of them still had their wings intact. They most likely flew the injured ones that needed tending to the hospital. It was the only way they could've made it to the hospital before us.

"Excuse me! This young man is hurt and needs a doctor right away!" I shouted to one of the nurses at the main desk.

She looked at him, then back at me.

"Paging doctor Connelly. Please come to the front desk as soon as possible."

About a minute later, a young blonde haired woman, dressed in a doctor's uniform, came jogging up the hall.

"What's the problem?" she said, looking overly concerned.

"It's him." I pointed to Isaiah, who was in bad shape.

"Get a gurney out here, stat! Where is everyone today!" the young woman yelled.

Soon, she was joined by 3 other nurses who began transporting Isaiah to an operating room.

"He'll be alright, right?" I asked one of the secretaries.

"I assure you ma'am, he's in the best of hands. Dr. Connelly is one of the founding members of Life Garden Hospital."

"Thank you." I said with a half smile.

"We need to keep moving, Lady Evelyn." Said Devon, who was already standing by the door.

"No!" yelled Kalu. "I'm not going anywhere!"

Kalu stood near the door with the staff back in her hands.

"Isaiah didn't leave me and I'm not leaving him!"

I looked at Devon and then at Kalu.

"Fine. We'll stay until we know he's made a full recovery."

"Yesss!" said Kalu.

"Hmph." Devon walked out the hospital door and motioned for me to follow.

"Be right back."

I walked out the door and followed Devon around the corner.

"What is it?"

"You know exactly what it is Evelyn. You're getting far too attached to that girl. Giving her a new name, making her your student, the list goes on."

"Devon—-"

"Let me finish. It's great that you care about her, but what are you going to do when we have to return her to Earth?"

I looked down at my feet.

"I didn't really think about that too much."

"I know you didn't." said Devon. "I'm just looking out for your best interests. You've been through a lot. I don't want you to get attached to someone else and have to say goodbye again. It's not healthy."

"Thank you, Devon."

He smiled. "I'm keeping an eye on you." He winked.

I laughed. "You're an idiot."

We returned to our seats in the waiting room to find Roxy asleep, Kalu on edge, and Reuben introducing himself to the nurses. I took my seat next to Kalu and closed my eyes to rest. When I awoke, Devon was speaking to one of the surgeons that had tended to Isaiah. He walked over to me.
