I had walked along the market for quite some time with Kalu. The sights themselves overwhelmed me. The people were so friendly and well-mannered, it tore my heart that I'd have to leave at all.

"Evelyn! Look at this!" Kalu pointed to an assortment of colorful fish being sold in ornate tanks.

I smiled gently.

"Yes, they're beautiful."

I looked down at the gifts she had picked out for her mother and brother; A beautiful handmade necklace for her mother, and a chain with a baby dragon tooth for her brother.

"Hold your things, Kalu." I said as I handed her the items.

"Right. Sorry, Lady Evelyn." She took the small boxes and stored them in her satchel.

"Alright, we should head to the hotel to get some rest for tomorrow. You're meeting King Julius after all." I smiled at her and she returned the gesture.

"I know. I'm a little nervous."

"Don't worry, just do what I told you to."

She nodded and took my hand.

I gripped her hand tight as we walked along the glimmering river. Everything in the Capital was so beautiful. It almost made me forget I had to leave. As we walked along the river, I looked over to some denizens eating at a local Cafe.

"Hey, Lady Evelyn, look! It's Devon!" Said Kalu as she waved.

My heart sank. I don't know why, but seeing Devon with another woman triggered envy within me. Despite this, I waved and smiled sincerely. He and the woman waved back. She was beautiful.

"Who's that lady?" Asked Kalu.

"I..don't know." I replied.

In all honesty, I was envious of all the connections between my friends. Reuben and Roxy, the subtle connection between Sera and Isaiah, and now this new woman and Devon. It made my heart wrench. Of course I loved to see my friends happy, but I wanted what they had; Love. It had been taken from me, ripped from my grasp. I could feel my body getting cold. If I couldn't let love drive me, revenge would take it's place.

I walked to the Velligrim Grande Hotel and, after speaking to the receptionist, made my way to the penthouse suite. I trudged down the hall with an overly tired Kalu by my side. Before entering, I could hear voices from the inside of the room.

"Stay here." I looked to Kalu.

She responded with a nod and I quietly and cautiously swiped my card and pushed the door open. My action was echoed by a scream as I quickly exited the room, rosy red cheeks painted my face.

"Five minutes!" I yelled toward the door as I heard the contents inside, scrambling to decency.

"Who's in there?" Asked Kalu.

I just shook my head and leaned against the wall.

About five minutes later, Sera and Isaiah emerged from the room with the same rosy red cheeks of embarrassment. Soon, all of us wore our own rosy masks.

"What the hell!" Murmured Kalu.

"Hush." I said as I moved my index finger to my lips.

We entered the room and looked around with a smile. The suite had it's own separate living room and kitchen, with a wall that was solely glass to view King Julius' Castle. On the far side of the room were two bedrooms and a bathroom, and there was another bathroom beside the kitchen. The suite was amazing. A large fish tank ran through the bedrooms and bathroom, giving the room a more exotic feel.
