"Great job today ladies!" Ben, my manager encouragingly says as Marina and I walk back into the building after the meet and greet. I shoot him a look and immediately he shuts up. I'll admit, for as bad as it could have gone, Marina did good. I tried avoiding her at all costs, I preferred to submerge myself in my fans and enjoy them as much as they enjoy me, but somehow, some fucking how, Marina and I were always forced to take pictures with eachother. Every single time she put her hand around my waist I could feel her nails digging into my skin. So naturally I would do the same to her and we both were forced to swallow our anger and hide our hate behind two brilliantly white, gleaming smiles. Marina throws herself down in the chair she sat in before. She takes a finger and motions for one of her body guards to come over and she whispers something to him and they both double over in laughter. Ben looks at me, and I look at him. Obviously whatever the hell it was she said, it was about me. I just curl the corners of my mouth up and force a smile, showing her I'm a better person than her. We both quietly wait for the crowd to die down so we can get in taxis and go back home. Every second I'm stuck in this room with Marina the more hate I have for her. It's terrible how I can hate someone so much, it's like my new passion and its tearing me inside because I hate her so much. Any minute now I'm just going to explode, I'm so full of it. Everything about her annoys me, the way she overly sways her hips when she walks, the way she flaunts her boobs, the way she has to wear wigs, everything about her is fake.
About an hour goes by and two simultaneous honks emanate from the road. Marina and I stand up at the same time, except she glares at me before cutting in front of me and leaving the building first. As we approach the taxis, I feel a hand rest upon my shoulder. Thinking it was Ben, I turn around and open my arms, expecting to hug him goodbye. Much to my disappointment, it was just Marina. I scoff at her and slap her hand off of my shoulder. "Don't fucking touch me. Hugging you with the fans was more than enough touching from you." I spit.
"JESUS CHRIST LANA. DO YOU THINK I WANTED TO HUG YOU? DON'T FLATTER YOURSELF, DARLING, BECAUSE I ONLY DID IT FOR THE FANS. EVERYTHING I DO IS FOR MY FANS. I ACTUALLY SHOW MY LOVE FOR THEM, UNLIKE YOU. YOU WON A BRIT AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN THANK YOUR FANS? WHAT KIND OF DEDICATED ARTIST ARE YOU? YOURE SO FULL OF IT. YOU AND YOUR SULTRY SONGS. YOU KNOW ONE DAY, PEOPLE ARE GOING TO FORGET YOU AND ONLY REMEMBER YOUR MUSIC SO STOP ACTING LIKE YOURE THE QUEEN BITCH, GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS, AND GO FUCK YOURSELF." Marina explodes, hurries over to her taxi, slams the door, and her body guards speed away. My breathing slowed down and all that I could hear was my heart beat. It's like how it was waiting for the first meet up with Marina, the time slowed down and every minute felt like an hour. I fall backwards and land on the cold hard pavement. Ben comes rushing over and helps me up before any people on the streets have time to figure out what all of the commotion was about.
"Way to fucking go Lana. You just blew it. Marina mentioned to me how she wanted to thank you for actually getting along with her today, and I bet she was just about to thank you before you had to go and set her off. God dammit Lana you just ruin everything." For the first time in my life, I agreed with them... Marina was right.
