This chapter is dedicated to sweetrolls13 for winning my little competition! I am indeed 14 years old! (Many of you thought I was much older i.e. 20s, which surprised me lol)

Alice
After Oliver sped away, I stood for a minute and mulled over my options. I could go back inside and make up a bullshit story, or I could walk away from everyone and everything. I was at that stage in my depression where I just wanted to pretend that none of this was happening.
Before I could work up the courage to slip away, the back door creaked open behind me. I froze instinctively and didn't turn around until a voice spoke, "Alice?"
I mentally cursed as I whirled around to face Alex. Once upon a time, the sight of him made my heart flutter; now he just reminded me of all the wrong I'd done. I forced a weary smile, "Hey, Alex."
He moved towards me. "Alice, do you know how worried I've been? All we got was a vague text saying you were okay but no explanation or anything! You could have died and we would never have known!"
I felt rage bubble underneath the surface of my cool exterior. Who the hell did he think he was? "What? Is my word not good enough anymore? I don't need a babysitter, I can handle myself!" I spat bitterly.
He scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "I'm sorry, Alice, I was just really worried about you."
"Yeah, well, I'm fine," I muttered guiltily. Less than a minute ago I was seriously considering abandoning these people who cared and worried about me. Even though I was certain that I no longer romantically cared about Alex, he was still a close friend that I would take a bullet for.
"What were you doing, anyway?" Alex asked.
I bit my lip nervously. "I was researching the Death Symbol, seeing what I could find out about it," I blatantly lied. They could never know about the deal I made, ever. That was something I would have to deal with on my own; it was my burden to bear.
"You find out anything?"
"Nope not a thing."
"How long do we have left until it's activated?" Alex asked. After I'd recovered from being tortured by Crowley, I had told everyone about the Death Symbol and that it was supposed to be activated on the first day of winter.
"The first day of the meteorological winter is in exactly six weeks," I said in dismay. Unless Crowley pulled through - which I was beginning to doubt - the Death Symbol would activate and we would all die.
He ran a hand through his hair. "Damn," Alex said, as there was nothing else really to say. The Death Symbol was basically a supernatural weapon of mass destruction with no apparent off switch.
"Exactly," I muttered. "Anyway, there is no point on dwelling on the inevitability of the end unless we're going to do something about it. And I've got an angry father awaiting so come on, tickle bug, it's time to face the music."
Alex was still for a moment as I walked away from him and towards the door. Then I heard his delayed shout, "Tickle bug?!"

"I still can't believe you remembered that," Alex grumbled, referring to the use of his embarrassing nickname.
"An elephant never forgets," I said, ignoring his look of confusion.
"I forgot how random you could be," Alex said. After I had been shouted at for an hour about being irresponsible and worrying people, Alex and I had travelled to one of the cafés in town for pie.
