What is love?
What does that word mean?
So many things
And yet we have reduced it
Reduced it to nothing
We use it
We break it
We lose it
Yet
If it was not misused
What would love be?
A mother gazing at her child
A child and their pet
A girl and a boy
A man and a woman
Two best friends
Well
Love is everything
Love
When not misused
Is just beauty of the heart
True love
Is pure kindness
And fondness
Of someone
Or something
We all need love
But each a different type
And when we know what type
What type of love our heart yearns for
Then we can find it
A child wants a pet
A new wife wants a child
And I want
What do I want?
I don’t know
I say to myself
But with my mind not my heart
That I have parents to love me
And friends
Especially the best one
The new one
And I have pets
So I have all the love
That I need
Or could possibly want
Right?
Right?
Right?
But is it true
Is it enough?
I want to say it is
I want to be happy
With what I have
I want to be satisfied
And not greedy
But my heart
Despite my efforts
To keep it hidden
And silent
Keeps nudging me
And subtly telling me
That I need
And that I want
More
But I wish
