Aiming for the top(book 3 of the clearys on their way to victory series)

Chap.3

Ellie's 1st in the rotation, so I won't be dancing with her or Shannon cause she's 12th in the rotation. Unfortunately enough, Lauren ended up being 6th in the rotation, dancing with me and standing next to me before we dance. Great.

"We are about to begin competition 309, boys and girls open championship under 9, everyone has successfully made it so no late entries are permitted." Said the announcer, then he announces the judges and musicians and then continues.

"Could we please have the first three out onstage?" The announcer said, and with that, the competition had started.

Ellie danced really well! Her clicks were high, and she knew what she was doing, and I knew, cause I had seen her dance at oireachtas.

Soon enough, it was my turn! I took a quick look around and spotted my mom, Ellie's mom, Lauren's mom, and Shannon's mom, plus Elaine and Shayla, so it was a big crowd to dance for, but I wasn't alone cause I had Lauren even though she was a jerk.

And one and kick and kick and kick, treble step up click down, treble up and stomp, and heel two three up! And heel two three up! And up and a one two three kick kick and down. I danced all three steps so fluently, hitting every beat perfectly, and then finished.

"Great job!!!!" Said everyone, when I was finished. I couldn't help but feel happy!

Everyone else danced great for light shows heavies and set, but nothing exciting or terrible really happened, so I didn't really feel like telling.

Just then, Roisin texts me, "Emma! You did great, but guess what! You didn't notice cause you were dancing with her, but Lauren forgot her hornpipe and stumbled a bit in her reel, and since you weren't there, she also made up a part of her set! Everyone said she could do better, and even she did! That's a first!"

I was surprised, happy and sad all at the same time. Surprised cause she rarely ever does bad, happy cause she dances against me so that gives me more of an opportunity and she's a jerk, and sad cause she's from my school. Ugh.

She also said that the treble reel was about to start and I was in it! I ran so fast but trying not to slip cause I had heavies on, into the gym, and onstage. Luckily they just were lining up, so I just jumped in line. I had just finished making up my treble reel, so I was nervous.

The music was on, and we started to clap as the first dancer stepped out and danced. Then so on, until it was Roisin's turn. She stepped out, and danced amazingly. She was so good I couldn't even tell if it was her or not!!! Soon enough, it was my turn though, so I stepped onstage and began my treble reel. I was amazing! And I could tell (not trying to brag) cause I was smiling, I felt confident, and I didn't forget anything, and mom was giving me a nod and mouthing the word "amazing" to me! I finished, bowed, and walked back to my place to do the ending step with everyone else since I was last, and then bowed again to the judges and musicians and waited onstage cause they said they were gonna announce them right there to be easier and it was.

"Ok we will announce the top 3 dancers and if you here your number you can exit the stage until we call you back on. 102,104,504." One of the judges said, and walked off to our seats, excited!!!

"Good job,girls!" Says mom when we come to the bleachers to sit down, cause there was like 40 girls in this comp and there placing 20.

About 5 minutes later, they call us back up.

"In third place is......"
