I wake up to the sound of mom going "Wake up!" So that was pretty legit straight forward.
But the I remember I'm competing at worlds today!!! I'm so excited and nervous I jump out of bed and rush over to the little desk area to put on my wig!
I have a new wig and it's so pretty!!!!!! So it's blonde (my hair color) and it's a bun wig but one of those big bun wigs that go to like your shoulder and then I have my bump.
I finish my wig and put on my makeup aka eye liner, mascara some foundation, and some blush and lipstick that's all from Mac and then we eat breakfast, and go to the venue!
When we get to the venue it's huge! There are loads of people running around and music playing everywhere and lots of vendors!
We quickly get our numbers and our ballroom and go over to it. I'm 127 and Roisin's 134 so we're near each other. Our ballroom is C so we wait there until they announce us.
"Could we we please have all competitors in competition 409 girls under 11 side stage to check in please?"
We wiggle into our new dresses and go side stage to check in along with a bunch of other girls in our comp. Elaine says that there are 140 girls in our comp so it's a huge group and they'll recall about 70 girls back up for set.
We both check in and walk back to our seat where mom and Shayla are sitting. I quickly go to the bathroom, then they announce more when I get back.
"Could we please have numbers 100-130 from competition 409 back stage to line up please? Thank you."
We walk over to back stage and are told where to sit. I'm in the last row of chairs and so is Roisin cause we're at the end of the rotation.
Lauren and Shannon are here too! Shannon is 304 so she's not up for a while and Lauren is 293 and still a jerk. Ellie is 145 so probably in the next set.
They rush through the first people and soon, I'm walking onstage!!!! I feel so nervous I can barely breathe, but I'm ok cause I start the step and don't stop!!!
I do my hornpipe so fluently that even I can't believe how good it is! (Not trying to brag).
I hit every single beat and when I'm done, I feel really confident. I bow, and walk off.
I walk over to our seats and smile excitedly. Everyone's really happy for me then, Elaine calls me over.
"It was really good, just make sure you pull up more. The other girl was really sharp and energetic, but she didn't have the beats like you like you didn't have the energy like her. Try to be really energetic in reel ok?"
"Ok."
Everyone else was the same. They would do their dance super good, then Elaine would give them a lecture. But now it was time for reel.
When the announcer called us back over, I put my dress back on and walked with Roisin. I sat where I was the first time and waited until I had to stand up. I wasn't as nervous for lights cause I'm a lot better at lights than I am at heavies!
I finally get up onstage and do my dances. I remember Elaine reminding me to pull up more, so I do. I try really hard and make everything look really sharp, but also keep a big smile on my face so it looks really easy but it's definitely not! I finally bow and walk offstage, feel super happy. I did my dance the best it could be, and I thought it was really good!
Elaine said I was a lot better than the girl who danced with me this time, so I guess that's a good thing!
I watch the other girls and, honestly, I thought Roisin did the best. I mean, no offense to everyone else, they were great, but Roisin really took the corrections from Elaine from the first round, and fixed them, even though it was a different dance, it was just like arms, and toes and posture, but it was really good!
