Chapter 40

Now, it's Wednesday. It's been 5 days since the whole argument between me and my dad. And my birthday is on Friday.

Lydia and Stiles are planning a surprise party for me after school Friday with the help of Scott, Isaac and maybe Allison.

I know you're thinking, how would I know about the party if it's a surprise? Well, thanks to super hearing and Isaac's room being right next to mine, I heard him talking to Stiles on the phone about it.

I went to the bathroom. Thank goodness I got the room that had a bathroom already in it.

I brushed my teeth and splashed some cold water on my face, hoping that it would wake me up.

I dried my face with a towel and then looked at myself in the mirror.

In the reflection, I saw Kali standing behind me. My eyes widened. Before I could turn around, she put me in a headlock and dragged me back into my room. "This. Isn't. Cool!" I said in between breaths.

I saw Deucalion sitting on my bed. Kali let go of me and stood beside him.

"What a surprise. Where are your two sidekicks?" I asked, not seeing Ethan and Aiden where they usually were.

"They have some stuff to do." Deucalion answered. "We need to talk." He says.

"Talk about what? I already told you about a million times that I'm not going to be part of your little alpha pack." I tell him.

Kali smirked as the bedroom door opened. "Alex, do you think you could-" Isaac started. Kali grabbed him by the throat and pinned him against the now closed door.

"Let him go!" I yelled. "No need for loud voices Alex," Deucalion asked. "You've used enough of that with your dad."

I watched as Isaac struggled to get out of Kali's grip. "Deuc, you better hurry and talk to her because he's a fussy one." She smiled.

"If you wanted to talk to me then this is not the way to do it. Put him down!" I say. Isaac was choking, finding it hard to breath.

"You're choking him! Let him go!" I yelled. "Kali.." Deucalion trailed off. Kali rolled her eyes and let Isaac go.

He fell onto the floor coughing. I ran to his side, helping him up. "What are they doing here?" He asked. "I have no idea." I tell him.

"You know very well what we're here for. We're here for you." Deucalion says.

"They want you to be in their pack? Don't do it." Isaac says.

"I already told you, I'm not going to be part of your pack! I don't want to, and I never will." I inform.

"They'll make you kill Derek, just to be an alpha." Isaac explained.

"You're very smart, Isaac." Deucalion said. "But smart could get you killed."

Kali immediately sticks her claws into Isaac's chest and raises him up.

"Let him go!" I yelled, trying to push her, but she pushed me with her other hand.

"Please, let him go." I pleaded, watching Isaac cough up blood. "You need to be persuaded. This is the way to do it." Deucalion smirked.

"Stop! Leave him alone. If you want to hurt anyone, it should be me, not him." I tell him.

"We don't want to hurt you, Alex." He says. "Just let him go. We can talk about whatever you want." I tried to convince them to leave him alone.

"I don't want to talk anymore. You know what I want." He smiles.
