~Faith~
Niall's thumb wiped away the tears on my cheeks.
"That's so horrible!" I sobbed softly, looking into his bright blue eyes, now brimming with tears themselves.
"I know," he choked. "She's the sweetest little girl ever. She doesn't deserve this, this...illness."
"Oh Niall," I said, wiping my eyes, "you have to take me to see her. To meet her. Please."
"Of course," he said soothingly. "I'm sure she would love to meet you."
Niall had just finished telling me about Caitlin, a little girl with cancer at the hospital that I had been treated at. The story was heartbreaking. Nobody deserved this. Nobody.
"I'm gonna tell the boys, we'll all sing for her," continued Niall. "She loves One Direction, y'know? I know she would love that."
"Yup," I said, nodding. My hair stuck to the tear streaks on my face. Niall peeled my hair away.
"I love you," he said softly. "I will always love you, forever and ever." I nodded.
"I love you too," I said. "In fact, I loved you first." I smiled a little. Niall cradled my body in his arms.
"Maybe you loved me first, but I will still love you, forever and ever." We sat in silence for a few minutes, the only light in the room coming from the moonlight streaming through the window. It must have been past midnight. Finally Niall let go, and kissed my cheek.
"I have to go now, love," he whispered, leaning over and putting his shoes back on.
"Why?" I asked, brushing a lock of hair away from my eyes. Niall hopped on one leg as he shoved his shoe back on his foot.
"I've got work tomorrow, early in the morning," he said, finally stuffing his foot in his shoe. He yawned. "So I've got to go." I shook my head.
"Don't go, Nialler," I said.
"I wish I didn't have to," he sighed. Niall leaned over and kissed the tip of my nose. "Try to get some sleep, baby," he whispered.
"Okay," I said softly.
"I love you," he said. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight," I murmur, already half asleep.
