"Faith! Come on! We can't be late!"

"I'm almost ready!" I called back. I was wearing sparkly navy blue flats, a white tunic, navy blue leggings, and my One Direction necklace. I wore that necklace everywhere. It reminded me of the boys and kept me feeling strong. Just then Ada sauntered in.

"Cute outfit, Faith," she said dismissively. She was wearing a red dress and a denim jacket. Which of course she looked great in. "Ok, let's go. We can't keep Niall waiting!"

"Yeah," I said. I was still bummed out because of Ada's date with Niall. I was the one who should be having a date with him. But that was a whole other matter. Ada grabbed my hand.

"Oh gosh! We've only got half an hour to get there. We need to go NOW!" She sounded like a little kid who wanted to get candy or something. She practically pulled me out of the door and we took a bus to the restaurant. "Now remember," she told me as we were walking the block from the bus stop to get to the restaurant, "you're sitting at another table. Not the one with Niall and me. Got it?"

"Yeah," I replied glumly. I thought Ada was being really mean! After all, One Direction wasn't her life. They were my life.

The restaurant was empty except for one person. When I saw him I nearly passed out.

~Niall~

Two girls entered the restaurant. One, the older one I think, seated herself across from me in the booth. The other sat at a table nearby.

"Hi, I'm Niall!" I said to the girl who had just sat down.

"I'm Ada," she said. We shook hands.

"So, are you a big fan?" I asked. She wrinkled her nose.

"Of what?"

"One Direction, naturally."

"Oh!" She exclaimed. "Uh...yeah. I'm a big fan."

"What's your favorite song by One Direction?"

"Uh..." She was blanking. I wondered why, if this girl was a "big fan", she had a hard time remembering her favorite song. Then Ada's face lit up. "You know that one that they play on the radio all the time?" She started humming "What Makes You Beautiful".

"Oh, you mean 'What Makes You Beautiful'."

"Well that's my favorite."

"Interesting," I said absentmindedly. I couldn't wait for a waiter to come. This conversation was incredibly awkward. Then a red-haired teenager came to our table.

"Hello! Welcome to O'Toole's Restaurant. What can I get you to order?"

"I'll have a hamburger deluxe, please," I requested.

"And I'll take a grilled cheese sandwich," said Ada.

"Right away," the waiter said after jotting down our order on his notepad. After he left, I noticed a girl sitting at a table near ours. She was the only person in the restaurant besides Ada and me.

"Who's that?" I asked Ada.

"Oh, that's just my younger sister, Faith."

"She looks lonely."

"Never mind her," said Ada.

"Faith!" I called, trying to catch her attention. "Over here, Faith!" She looked up and gaped when she saw me. Wow, I thought, she's even prettier than I thought.

"Niall," she said, just a whisper.

"Hi Faith! Would you like to join us?"

"Ok," she said with a smile. I patted the seat next to me and she sat down.

"So, are you a big fan?"

"Of course. One Direction is my life," she said. Now here's a real fan, I thought.

"What's your favorite song?" I questioned.

"We'll, I like all your songs, but overall my favorite is 'Up All Night'. It's all about having fun, and well, I just love having fun!" Faith, unlike Ada, was the type of girl I like to be with. She was fun, sweet, and just a lovely person. I couldn't take my eyes off of her. We talked for the whole meal.

At the end of the meal, Ada wrote her phone number down on a napkin and gave it to me.

"Here's my number, you know, just in case."

"Oh, thanks," I said, pocketing the napkin. I'd be calling the number. Just not to talk to Ada.
