Rochelle's POVAfter I had thought it over a while I felt better about my fight with Hope. I knew she was just drunk and she didn't know what she was doing. She would never hurt me like that. Besides, I had to make up with her. She was my best friend and she knows all my deepest darkest secretes (not that I have many) If she got truly mad at me she could do a lot of damage.
I picked up my phone to call her. After a few unsuccessful calls, I finally just sent her a text to let her know I was sorry , and she should call me asap. She was probably just busy, or, even more likely, asleep from her hangover. Even if she was mad, I knew she couldn't stay that way for long, as long as I apologized first of course.
It wasn't till the next day that hope called back.
"Hey Hope" I said
"Um Rochelle" said a voice that was not Hope's "this is mrs. Kararo. There's been an accident, maybe you should come to the hospital and see for yourself. It might be easier that way."
"Wait an accident!? Is she alright, can I talk to her?"
"Just come" she said and hung up the phone.
All the drive there i kept trying to comfort myself. She was probably fine. Maybe just a few bad cuts or something.
When I got there I hurried to the front desk.
"Is Hope Kararro here?"The nurse pointed me in the right direction and I almost sprinted up the elevator and down the hall.
When I got to the door I stopped. Just standing there, praying that this was some kind of a joke.
"Rochelle" mrs. Kararro breathed, looking up from the hospital bed as I walked into the bleak white room. God, white was so depressing.
My eyes landed in hope and I gasped. She was covered in bandages and had tubes connecting her to way to many machines. But what scared me most was her closed eyes and lifeless face.
"Hope" I whispered "what happened?"
"There was and accident" Hope's mom started to explain. "The other car hit her's on the drivers side. both their cars were totaled, but the other driver, well he's alright. We can say the same for Hope"
"She won't wake up will she?"
Mrs. Kararro nodded, then burst into tears."she won't wake up" she repeated
I sat there not thinking, not feeling. I couldn't cry. If I did I would be giving up. And I couldn't give up. Not on Hope.
She would wake up eventually. Tomorrow, or the next day. Broken bones and cuts could heal couldn't they? She would be fine. Hope would be fine.A/n- sorry the first chapters are short, but they each deserve their own chapter you know?
