Mitch's P.O.V.

I knocked on Kirstie's door, the two kids slouching behind me. They had both fallen asleep in the car and we're now moody as well as tired. They just needed to fall into a bed. Kirstie's door swung open and she smiled brightly. She then looked down and saw the kids and frowned. I shook my head as if to say I would tell her later. "Do you have a free bed?" I asked. She nodded and I pushed passed her into the house. "I'll explain later, can I just let them sleep somewhere?" I asked.

"Yeah, sure." She lead the kids down the hall and into her kids bedrooms. She then joined me back in the sitting room, falling down onto the couch next to me and giving me the most confused look ever. "Why do you have Scott's kids? Why are they basically the walking dead? And why do you need my bedroom?" She asked.

"Scott and Alex had a fight yesterday and he came to my house in tears. I offered to have the kids for Alex because if he was in half the state that Scott was in he was in no way capable of looking after the kids. They told me that they don't sleep at night because Scott and Alex are always arguing and I told Alex that I would keep them out of Scott's hair and you were the only person I thought of to come to." I explained.

"A fight? They never argue!" Kirstie said.

"I know! I think it's tension because of Noah and they have just been keeping emotions in and now they're snapping." I said, letting my hands run over my face. "I just, I don't know. I haven't been able to think about anything other then them since he died. I can't move on with my own life at the moment!"

"Mitch, it is not your obligation to look after Scott. He's a big boy. He should have enough common sense to know what to say. What did they fight about anyway?" She asked.

"I don't really know. I know it ended with Scott saying 'well at least I'm not the reason our son is dead.'" I told her. Her mouth dropped open as she shook her head.

"He's an idiot!" She sighed.

"That's exactly what he said when he fell into my arms when I opened my door yesterday." I told her. She ran her hand through her hair and sighed. I watched as she opened her mouth to speak but her voice was overtaken by a loud screaming.

"Shit!" Kirstie said, jumping backwards as I stood up and ran to where the kids were sleeping. I opened the door and saw Toby kicking the sheets at his feet, his hands and arms flailing all over the place. Jessica was sat up, wide eyed. I ran to Toby's side and tried to shake him awake.

"Noah! Noah!!" He screamed, his eyes flying open. His breathing was heavy as his chest heaved. "Please bring him back, uncle Mitch. He was trying to tell me something!" Toby begged, gripping onto my sleeve as his chest heaved.

"I can't Toby." I told him. Tears were streaming down his face. "What was he trying to tell you?" I asked.

"He was telling me to go with him. Because he was lonely where he was. I don't want him to be lonely. Please bring him back!" Toby begged me again. I wiped the tears off of his face, wrapping my arms around him.

"I-I can't." I repeated, feeling him shaking. "What's happened to you?" I whispered as I lifted him into my arms. I walked him into the sitting room and sat him down on the couch, letting Kirstie talk to him. I then walked back to the bedroom where I saw Jessica's bed was empty.

"Jess?" I called. I looked around but was only met with a sound of a loud thud. I let all the air out of my lungs and walked to the bathroom where the door was locked. "Jess?" I pressed my ear up against the door as I heard a sniffle and another huge thud.

I felt the door shake as another thud followed. Was she hitting the door? "Jess, open the door." I said softly. I heard the lock click and I gently opened the door. Jessica was sat on the floor, with her head flopped downwards. I ran my hand through my hair and bent down to her side.

"I just get angry, okay? I came in here so I won't hit anyone." Jessica admitted. How were Alex and Scott not seeing this!

"Angry?" I asked. She looked up at me and nodded.

"It's not fair! Everything's going wrong. Noah's dead. Daddy and dad are fighting. I keep hurting people. And Toby is terrified. I don't know what to do!" Jessica shouted, her hand slamming against the floor.

"This isn't right." I whispered to myself. I helped Jessica off of the ground and led her to the sitting room where Kirstie held Toby in her arms. She shook her head as I sat down next to Jessica.

"Jess, tell me what happening at home." I told Jessica. She nodded.

"They just always fight and I don't know what to do. I don't want one of them to leave us." Jessica explained. Kirstie reached nodded.

"Jessica, neither of them will leave you! They love both of you too much and they love one another too much to leave each other. They are just upset about Noah." Kirstie reassured them.

"Don't they think we're upset about Noah then? Because ever since he's died they haven't asked either one of us if we are okay! They don't see Toby's red eyes. They don't care that I beat up a kid at school the other day!" Jessica shouted. "They don't see because they are too caught up in this little bubble! I just want one of them to pick me up and hug me but they don't! They think because we're kids we don't feel the same way as they do!" Tears slipped down her face as her voice got louder and louder. I could see the wear and tear of the last month in her eyes. I could feel the pain radiating off of her. I could hear the anger in her voice.

I let Jessica carry on ranting because that was what she needed. She needed to let out all the emotions in a safe way. She was letting everything out and that was good. That would stop her from being angry all the time.

When they had both dried their tears and seemed to be feeling a little better the front door opened and in walked Jeremy and the kids. Toby and Jessica went off to play with them and Kirstie and I sat back down on the couch. "I know it's not my place to step into their relationship but I'm worried about the kids. It isn't healthy for them to be feeling like that. Alex and Scott need to sort out their shit pretty quickly." I said. Kirstie agreed.

"You need to message Alex and tell him that the kids are staying here tonight. The may get some sleep if they're here with me. I can drop them off to school in the morning. For now you need to go back to yours and talk to Scott. Tell him what Jessica told you and tell him to try and talk to Alex. Maybe then he might see some sense." Kirstie told me.

"Thanks Kirst. Are you sure it's okay that I leave them here?" I asked. She nodded, hugging me.

"Absolutely, chicken. You go back, talk to Scott and get some rest. Don't loose sleep over it, please. They'll figure it out. You know they will." She said.

I then left going back home, texting Alex on the way, who thanked me for letting them stay at Kirstie's. Hopefully this would all pan out back to normal. Like Kirstie said 'you know they'll figure it out.'
