Chapter 28

When Riker, John, and i get back to my house i see my mom standing in the front yard with Stormie, "Nova! John! Riker! your back i was worried!" My mom cries running to me and squeezing the life outta me.

"mom! stop! cant breath!" I gasp as i try to twist out of her grip, "oh sorry! Now i know you don't like John," I cut her off, "i don't not like John, i hate him!" I correct her while glaring at John. He stands there fidgeting nervously, "but i will give him a second chance because he seems to make you oh so happy." i say. My mom smiles, "thanks Nova that makes me feel somewhat better....i think"

"well you obviously don't need me here anymore i just be getting back to my house." Stormie says and i jump because i kinda forgot she was there! "no no! now that Nova knows who John is why don't you bring the others over and we can all have dinner together?" my mom says looking at me. i smile great fully, it would make sitting with John so much easier.

"Really? well sure we can come over, to tell you the truth i didn't have anything planned for dinner anyway! Give us a few minutes and we'll be right over!" with that Stormie sets off at a brisk pace to here house. "well I'll just go help her." Riker says turning to walk away. "oh no you don't! you are not leaving me here with him!" I grab Rikers arm as i pronounce 'him' with thinly veiled disgust.

"dang it! so close!" Riker says and I laugh, "what you don't want to be with me?" "no not you, him" Riker whispers into my ear as we both glance at John, hes watching us and i know he knows we're talking about him. "cmon lets go inside something smells." I say pulling Riker towards me house.

I know I know i sound like some schools snobby, rich, mean girl, but he tried to kidnap me! He deserves it! We go inside and Rikers pulls me closer to him, "we'll get through this ok and I'll be with you no matter what happens ok?" "ok" I reply as Riker pulls me into a kiss. DING DONG! Riker and I jump, "we are never alone are we!?" Riker exclaims and i laugh because, well its true!

i walk over and open the door all the Lynches, Tiffany, Hannah, Ratliff, and some girl who seems to be REALLY close to Ratliff are standing there. "you realize you dot have to ring the bell you can just come in right?" I ask amused. "yes i just like to ring the bell it seems politer," Stormie tells me, "and i brought a pie I made the other day because it seemed rude to just come over empty handed." Stormie adds walking into the house followed by everyone else.

"yum! apple!" i exclaim looking at the pie. Then i turn to Ratliff, "who's her?" I ask gesturing to the girl who has chin length, straight, jet black hair. Her eyes are dark with tons of makeup. She is extremely skinny and is wearing a VERY short tight dress. "oh this is my new girlfriend  we have been dating for about a week, her names Terra. I hope you don't mind me bringing her over." "no its fine I could use some new faces, you remember the guy who almost kidnapped me well hes my moms boyfriend." I tell Ratliff.

i must have said that really loud because after i say that i get about 10 voices yelling, "WHAT!" in my ear. "geez guys calm down I'm giving him a chance but i still don't forgive him." I tell then. "wow that sucks" Ratliff tells me. I look at Terra who's is looking REALLY confused. "I almost got kidnapped awhile ago and it turns out my moms been dating the kidnapper." "woah" Terra says. I nod, "yeah"

"DINNER!" My mom yells from the kitchen. We all pile into the dining room and Riker and I walk around the house grabbing extra chairs (i end up sitting on a stool with about 8 phone books piled on it, not exactly comfortable). During dinner i notice something Rydel seems really down, and know that i think about it she hasn't said anything since she came over I wonder whats wrong.

After dinner we all attack the pie, i find whipped cream in the fridge and after i "accidentally" get some on Rikers face an all out war starts, whipped cream every were! Even the adults joined in! After that we actually eat the pie then clean ourselves up, I have whipped cream in places you should never have whipped cream and from the looks on everyone elses faces, they do to.

Once cleaned up all the kids go into the living room and the adults go outside to talk or whatever. 'well that was an event full evening!" Ratliff says and well all laugh. Terra who made a huge deal about getting whipped cream in her hair crosses her arms and scowls. Ratliff looks at her and puts his arm around her, "cmon lighten up it was fun!" "you don't even know how long it takes me to make my hair so perfect! Maybe to make up for ruining it you can buy my a new bracelet?" Terra says batting her eyelashes.

"sure whatever you want my love" Ratliff says kissing her on the cheek. I look over at Riker, Rocky, Ross, Tiffany, Hannah, Ryland, and Rydel all of them are looking shocked and disgusted, Rydel looks sad  and upset. "soooo what songs are you guys going to play on tour?" i ask ad my stomach turns, tour that dreaded day comes ever closer. "probably the EP, Cali Girls, Wishing I Was 23, and some new songs" Ross says.

Every one starts talking about the tour and i can tell that they are all glad to talk about something instead of staring at Ratliff and Terra make googly eyes at each other. Its sickening really, I wonder if Riker and I look like that?? Sadly I'm the unfortunate one that has to sit next to Ratliff and Terra. "hey Nova come sit on my lap." Riker says patting his lap. i gladly get up and sit on his lap, "thanks for rescuing me!" I tell him. "hey everyone could see you were dying over there."

I laugh because its true, I was dying over there. Ratliff gets up, "I'm gonna get something to drink, Terra you want anything?" "whatever you have" Terra responds in a sickeningly sweet tone. Ratliff leaves the room and we all turn  to Terra, "so Terra-" Rocky starts but she cuts him off, "please just don't talk to me losers!" Terra says in a harsh tone while looking bored, "what?" Ross asks.

"you heard me, i don't want to talk to you guys, your childish, immature, and your band sucks!" Terra says rolling her eyes while pulling her phone out of her purse and turns to that. "but you actually said you liked us." Rocky point out. "of course i did to fool that stupid, ugly Ratliff." Terra says as if its the most obvious thing in the world.

"but your Ratliffs girlfriend!' Riker exclaims. "yeah cuz he has money! geez that's all i care about, money! i could care less about Ratliff!" i gasp and so does the others, "gold-digger, your a gold-digger." i mutter. Suddenly i hear a sob, i look over and see tears rolling down Rydels face, when she sees us looking at her she jumps up and runs out of the room.

The boys jump up, "stop! let me go!" i demand, they sit back down and i run out of then room. I look in my room first and see Rydel sitting on my bed bawling her eyes out. "Rydel.....whats wrong?" i ask sitting down next to her and putting my arm around her. Rydel looks at me tears rolling down her face, "i- i love- i love him!" She chokes out then goes back to sobbing.
