Love Me For Me (Hiccup x Reader)

Chapter 1

(y/n) POV

"Hurry, Moonbeam!" I said to my dragon as we ran through the forest. She is my dragon, she was given to me by my mother when I was 5 years old after my father passed away. I named her Moonbeam because she was the same colour as the moon. Well, I know that it's not the most creative name out there but I was 5 years old, I lacked vocabulary.

I realised I was spacing out and when moonbeam skid to a stop, I wasn't holding on to her saddle properly so I flew off of her and landed on a haystack. "Thanks for the warning, Moonbeam." I said sarcastically to my dragon as I dusted off the hay from my clothes. She smiled at me and laughed.

"I'm so sorry about the mess, Joren! Let me take-"

"No, its fine, I can clean it up. You need to hurry to home, your mother is waiting." Joren said as he held his pitchfork (did they even have those? XD) and started to clean up. I gulped and apologised a few more times before running off with Moonbeam by my side.

When I reached the front door, I looked back at Moonbeam and gestured for her to be as quite as possible when we go in. I slowly opened the door and looked around. My eyes landed on a figure sitting at our dining table. It stood up and said, "You're late."

"Hey, mom." I said as I rubbed the back of my neck awkwardly. She sighed and asked, "So what is the excuse this time? And why is there hay in your hair?" as she removed the pieces of hay from my hair. "Long story short, we were flying and I lost track of time and I landed in a haystack." Mom just laughed and shook head. Mom was always so understanding, she never got mad at my siblings and I. "ready for training?" she asked as she put her hand on my cheek, I nodded and followed her to our backyard.

We sat on the ground and began our training. You must be wondering what kind of training we are doing. Well, our family is special.

"Close your eyes, (y/n). Concentrate and feel your surroundings. Use the forces of the earth to create a breeze." I did as I was told and concentrated. I felt the life of the coursing through my veins. It felt... it felt... so calming that it made me happy. Then, I felt a cool breeze blow past my face, making my (h/l) (h/c) hair dance in wind. I opened my eyes and looked at my mom. I stood up and hugged my mom, "I did it! I did it, mom!" she hugged me and said, "I'm so proud of you! Now, let's go make dinner. Your brothers will be home soon." We laughed and walked into our house.

Oh! I forgot to tell you who we are! We are the guardians of nature. We have magical powers that we use to protect the flora and fauna from harm. Well, only the female descendants. So, there! That's why our family is so special.
