“How the hell do you loose your child!" Jack G whispers loudly to me.

“It wasn't purposely!" I panic.

“Why are you telling me this?" He ask, seeming just as stressed as I am.

“Well because, you're a dad… And you're my friend… You're supposed to be good at this stuff."

“Nash, you're a dad too!" He says with emphasis.

I almost whine when I reply, “I know! But I suck at it. I don't know what to do. What do I do?"

He sighs shaking his head. “Do you honestly want to know what I would do if Sophia went missing?"

I nod, eager to know exactly what his actions would be.

“If I were under the impression that Soph was kidnapped.. I'd call the police."

I sigh in defeat.

“And then when they found the bastard who took her, I'd kidnap him myself, take him to an ally, force them to chew razors, stab him in the eyes with needles, then stab him in the stomach with the biggest dagger I could find, and I would watch that fucker die." He shrugs, “But that part is more optional."

“Jack. I can't call the police. Police just make things worse."

He shakes his head. “I'm sorry Nash, you have to. And if you don't, I will."

Are you fucking kidding me? I knew I shouldn't have told him. I shouldn't have even taken my eyes off of Wes for a split second at the beach actually. I've never felt more torn in my life. I honestly might kill myself if I don't know where my son is within the next twenty-four hours. It's already been a good four hours.

I pace back and forth, raking my fingers through my hair repetitively.

I debate on whether I should call Babe before I call the police or not. If I call her first, she might have an idea of where he is at. I mean he and I just went over when and when he shouldn't talk to strangers.. Maybe he knew the person through Babe? On the other hand, I could call the police and they could find Wesley and Babe would never know.

I sigh pulling out my phone.

“You calling the police now?" Jack asks me.

I shake my head while scrolling through the contacts. I sigh. “I'm going to call Babe first."

Just as I press call, an unknown number pops up and is calling me.

They can wait.

I press end and let the call to Babe continue. The ringing causes me to feel even more nervous. I feel as if there  is a wound in the pit of my stomach, begging to be healed. It won't be healed though, not until I know where Wesley is.

Again the number pops up calling me. I do the same as I did last time and reject the call.

“Yes, Nash?" Babe answers. I hear the annoyance in her voice.

“Babe..." I begin.

I sigh feeling the words struggling to leave my mouth, something wouldn't let them.

She huffs, “Nash, I already told you not to call me in the first place. Now you're calling just to be an ass. Aren't you?" There was no time to answer before she started to speak again. “You know what, I don't even care anymore, I'm being serious, I do not want to speak with you again until I am home--"

“Babe, it's important!"

“Then tell me!" She demands.

I sigh for the billionth time today, “I-- I…"
