Chapter 34

"Combatant commands are now at A Defcon 1. Approximately 200 Decepticons are in hiding. Energon detectors have been triggered as far away as South America and China," Lennox said. We were all in a bigger meeting with people from around the world. I was in front of a bunch of cameras along with Lennox. I was dealing with the world leaders. I was trying to make it so the Auto bots could stay.

"The U.N. just received an encrypted audio file. They say it's from the leader of the Auto bots," someone said before playing it.

Sentinel's voice came over the speakers, "Defenders of earth, we have come for your natural resources to rebuild our damaged planet. When we have transported all we needed we will leave your world in peace. For such peace to exist you must immediately exile the Auto bot rebels you have harbored. Non-negotiable. Renounce the rebels, we await your reply."

"He is not the leader of the Auto bots," I said strongly. "The leader would never let this happen. He is better than Sentinel. He would have never done this, he didn't know. The Auto bots should not be punished for the actions of one that they thought they can trust."

"Enough," one of the world leaders snapped. "They cannot stay. They will endanger us all."

"If they go we will all become slaves to the Decepticons and be killed. The Decepticons know nothing of peace. If the Auto bots are exiled we are all doomed. If you exile the Auto bots you are sentencing everyone to death," I argued.

"Our decision stands. The Auto bots leave, today." The camera feed was cut off. I turned to look at Lennox with tears in my eyes. I had failed to protect the Auto bots. I ran to the Auto bots, I had to let them know. I needed to say good bye, I couldn't go with them.

I ran into the room where the Auto bots were waiting, sobbing. "Allison, what's wrong?" Optimus asked. I ran to him and he picked me up. "What happened Allison?"

"I failed; the world leaders have banished you from this planet. I couldn't change their minds, I failed." Optimus gave me a hug and I hugged him back.

"I know you tried your best Allison. You always do your best. It wasn't your fault," Optimus said and everyone else seconded him.

Lennox came into the room. "Head out to the base. The Xanthium is waiting for you. I am so sorry," Lennox said. "Sam and Mearing are taking a plane. Allison, you have been given permission to ride with the Auto bots. I nodded and stayed in Optimus' hand. Soon we were on the road and I curled up in his cab. I wouldn't even move to listen to the news and Optimus didn't play it either. I knew what I would hear. I couldn't hear that I had failed. I was already struggling to deal with it.

I don't know how much time passed on the drive to NASA, but as we drove in I heard one of the Auto bots talking. This group was known as the Wreckers. They didn't have very good manners, which is why they never left the base. They were assholes. "Gonna be 10,000 pounds of torque on this cheaper Cheep...Oh, not my thing."

"You damage this delays all me mates," another said. They bickered back and forth like brothers. I heard Sam and Mearing talking but didn't listen. I was numb right now. I didn't know what to do or how to react. "You gotta pull that you Nancy wanker. It's torqued to kill them."

"Calm down," another said. Optimus pulled to a stop.

"Allison you have to get out, you can't come with. I am so sorry. I know you are losing so many friends right now," Optimus said. I just started crying again. I still didn't move. Optimus set me down on the ground as he transformed. I was immediately picked up by each of the Auto bots and passed to them. We each said our good byes. Soon Sam came over to say his good byes. He had been talking to Epps.

Brains and Wheelie were in a dog crate and they were calling out, "Sammy, listen to me. Don't let them exile us."

"Don't let them take us, Sam. It's a Decepticon trap." Wheelie would know, he was once a Decepticon.

"Checked the nitrogen, we're booting out of here," one of the wreckers said.

"Optimus," Sam said. He was walking towards us.

"If what your leaders say is true, this was all my fault. I told them whom to trust. I was so wrong, I should have listened to you Allison."

"It doesn't make it your fault, it makes you human for a change," Sam said.

"Remember this, you may lose your faith in us, bit never in yourselves," Optimus said turning away. Sam grunted like he was in pain. His facial expression also showed pain. He was grabbing his wrist which bore a strange watch. I had never seen it before.

"I need to know how you're going to fight back. I know there's a strategy. I know you're coming back with reinforcements, something. I know there's a plan. You can tell me no other human will ever know." What reinforcement? All the remaining Auto bots were here.

Optimus turned to look at Sam, "There is no plan."

"We just do what they want, how are we going to live with ourselves?" Sam asked.

Optimus knelt down in front of us. "You are my friends, Sam and Allison. You always will be, but your leaders have spoken. From here, the fight will be your own." He got up and walked by Bee, "Make it short. We're loading up."

"All right hustle up," one of the wreckers said. Bee came to stand in front of us.

"We're going to do whatever we can to make it like it was. You will always be my friend, Sam, Allison." Sam started to tear up and I ran up to Bee and wrapped my arms around his face. "I gotta be going on." He stood up and walked toward the ship. I wanted to scream for them not to leave but I knew it would do no good. I couldn't over rule the governments of the world. I fell to my knees as Sam walked over to the railing and to fell to his knees sobbing.

Simmons wheeled up to us; he was in a wheel chair because his leg was broken. "Years from now, they're going to ask us, "Where were you when they took over the planet?" We're gonna say, "We just stood there and watched."

Sam and I watched the ship as it soared through the air. He made a phone call, "The word is, you got." He was silent for a moment, "Sure of what?" Suddenly Sam dropped his phone; he was looking at the sky. I looked to and to my horror saw missiles flying to the Auto bots ship.

"No!" I screamed as it blew up. I fell to my knees and sobbed. I now had really lost my friends. If they were out there somewhere then I could deal, eventually. But this I would most likely not recover from this. The watch Sam was wearing crawled away and Sam tried to step on it.

Sam pulled me to my feet and ran out to where Simmons was, "I need your help to track a phone. It's a man on this phone; he's the head of the human operation. And he's holding Carly hostage."

Dutch took the phone and led us to a computer inside NASA. "I'm hacking into the phone's camera right now." He was typing away, "There that is, that's a live stream from the camera. Someplace, hold on I can triangulate this. Okay, it's Chicago cell site, there I got it." He zoomed in further. "Trump tower, Chicago, lower penthouse." Sam and I left.

"I can be there in 15 hours," Sam said heading for a car.

Epps approached us, "I'm going with you guys. I still have my NEST friends out there. We'll round them up, find your girlfriend and bring this guy in."

"Why are you helping me?" Sam asked.

"'Cause that asshole killed my friends too," Epps replied and we got into his car. I climbed into the back seat.

We stopped at someone's house, "Let's roll." We had three cars full behind us, full of NEST soldiers. We had been on the road for hours.

"I don't have signal reading, it's not working," Sam said. We had reached the edge of Chicago and people were running and driving out of the city. It was in ruins and smoking.

"Move back!" They called to us. We kept going, we had a mission.
