A/N: the picture above is the car Allison transforms into. I realized that in an earlier chapter I said her alt is a RAV4 and I had a picture of a sports car. So I fixed that. I did like the sports car though.

Chapter 50

I had finally found Optimus. We were somewhere in the Texas desert, heading back to the base I had built in another desert several miles underground and walls, ceilings, and floors that were tens of feet thick concrete. After my family had been killed by the cons I used all the money I inherited to build a hideout for Cybertronians to hide from the humans. After Chicago, I tried my hardest to get some kind of Treaty back in place to protect them and had failed. So now they were hunted, their allies, and myself. I hadn't managed to get to Sam and his family in time, or Carly or Mikaela. I felt horrible about that, but I had managed to save Lennox and his family and Epps and his family. Also Simmons.

Now I had three other humans to try to defend and feed because Optimus would not leave them behind. Four Auto bots had joined us on our journey back to the base. One of them looked like a ninja, Drift, another looked like he had a cape and the third was Hound. Bee had slipped out one night to look for Optimus.

I had given him guard duty with Ironhide to guard the door. One morning he wasn't there. No one was to leave for any reason at any time. I was the only one allowed to come and go. I could take on a human form so I blended in better and in that form Energon detectors wouldn't find me. I noticed the humans trying to build a fire and I turned on them. "What the fuck do you think you're doing? Do you want to be found?" I asked.

"No, but I would like to be warm, it's cold," Cade said.

"Then huddle together, I will not have you endangering my friends. Now suck it up. You signed on for the life of a fugitive. NO fires, no light source of any kind, do you understand?" I asked.

"Yes, we understand," Cade said.

"Good." I turned back and went over to Optimus who was barely holding it together. I walked up to him. "Optimus, none of this is your fault."

"It sure feels like it is Allison. If the Cube had never come here we wouldn't be here now, if war had never broken out on Cybertron none of this would have happened. Your family would still be here, our friends would still be alive."

"There are some things that are beyond anyone's control Optimus. Just ride out the storm. I have saved as many of our allies as I could, and I have nearly all the Auto bots safe. I am trying to make some kind of truce between humans and the Auto-bots, but have yet to succeed. People are still scared about what has happened in Chicago."

"And they should be," Optimus said.

"Optimus, they have reason to fear the Decepticons, not you." I climbed onto his shoulder as tears welled up in his eyes. Once I was seated I wrapped my arms around his face the best that I could. Hugging him in my Cybertronian form would be easier but this felt more natural. This was how I had always done it.

"I have failed to protect my friends, allies, and you and your family Allison," Optimus said sobs starting to shake his frame. No one else came near him, no one had seen him upset before.

"No Optimus, you have failed no one, if anything it is I that has failed you. It took me 40 years to find you. I have all the Auto bots expect for you, Dumb, Dumber, Dumbest, and Bee over there." I pulled a cube of Energon out of my subspace. "Here, you need this," I said passing it to him.

Optimus took it from me, "Thank you, Allison," he said before drinking it.

"You're welcome Optimus. Tomorrow morning I'll get you back to the base and then I gather the others. For some of them I may need your help, Lockdown's ship, it belonged to the knights, you are descended from them. He's turned into a prison, if anyone on that ship wants to go home, you can open the cells, you can command them. If you are willing to help."

"Of course Allison, do think we could take the ship?"

"Any of the ship would be good, its several ships, taking just one would give us the parts we need to finish ours," I replied. So our plan for the bots was in place. Now, what the hell was I supposed to do with these humans?
