Celine rushed into the apartment, throwing her purse to the ground.
Where the fuck was he?
All the lights were off, so she ran to the room, throwing the door open and trying her best not to trip over her large heels.
In the middle of the bed was a smirking Jeongguk.
Completely safe, and uninjured. He was surrounded by rose petals, bottles of wine to his left and right.
"Welcome home."
The 20 phone calls she received while with Jimin.
The cryptic text. All for this?
"What the fuck?"
If she had done the same to him while he was working, it would be the end of the world.
Jeongguk sat up, taking a sip of wine he'd poured himself without her. There wasn't even enough room on the bed for her to join him.
"What? Are the roses too much? The champagne? The cheese? Or the bath I drew for you?" He asked, taking an obnoxious bite of a strawberry. "You should be falling at my feet right now, like the nice little girlfriend you are."
The man winked, ignoring her furious expression.
Which in turn, made Celine want to rip her hair out.
Did he not understand?
"No, this is all very wonderful, but I was working! I thought there was an emergency, I thought something happened to you! I was worried sick. You called me home to have wine with you? I can't believe you think you have the right to do that! This is great, just great. Now, I'm not going to get paid!" Celine ranted, pacing around the room.
It was true, that she probably wouldn't get paid.
But the issue here was she left Jimin. Her client. Her burgeoning source of income. It was unprofessional and rude of her. If this were anyone but him, their contract would immediately end.
