Sometimes it felt like Celine was running further and further away from herself.

Some could say it's her fault, but Celine often thought fate had some sort of vendetta against her.

The past replays in her mind often. In the nightmares that haunt her every time she slept.

When she closed her eyes, she tried to pin point everything she could have done differently. Praying that somehow she could travel back in time, and somehow keep herself from making the worst mistake of her life.

Grasping for a version of reality that didn't exist.

An estate for a home. A cute boyfriend. Five amazing best friends. And two, fantastic older siblings.

She didn't have to imagine it, she experienced it. What it was like to have everything you ever wanted.

Up until Celine Kim-El Gallab was sixteen, she had a perfect life.

Rich and loving parents of which she bore both names. Mother born in France, their wealthy extended family residing in Morocco.

Her mother moved back to Seoul, South Korea with her businessman father after they met in Paris. Fell in love.

Raphael, her older brother of four years. He tried to be stoic, but he loved his sisters. He was mentored to take over the company one day.

A sister named Mia. Who was only two years older. She liked to paint, just like her. She taught Celine everything she knew.

Her family and friends loved her. She loved them. They loved her stubborn and ambitious personality. Allowed her to blossom and grow as a person, supporting her through everything.

Her sixteenth birthday was a rainy day. Like any other.

'Happy birthday baby girl!
Me and your father are doing some last minute birthday shopping. Eat the brown sugar &blueberry pancakes I made for you. Have fun with Mia until then.
Love you,
Mom'

She let out a squeal, hopping around her room as she got ready for the day. Her parents were the best at making her feel special.

And even better, it was her favorite weather. Some people might've hated having a birthday when it was rainy and wet outside.

But Celine loved when the sky was gray.
