The Experiment

Chapter 8

"Hey Bolt?" We were now done swimming and was laying under the weeping willow watching the sun rise.

"Yes princess?" We were laying pretty close to each other. Both of our sides were touching.
"When you were in the facility did they do the same thing to you as they did to me?" I looked up at the sky to see all of the beautiful colors from the sunrise.

"Well I'm not so sure. I know that they did put us both in that horrific chair with all the needles. That liquid that they put into us made us stronger." Bolt was now laying on his side facing me.

"Did they do anything else to you besides put you into a chair and then a box?"

"Yeah...they brought me to this room where they made me practice my powers. The room was empty but they game me a shot. The shot made me hallucinate things. Things such as people running at me trying to kill me and I was always In a jungle. After the shot wore off I was tired and exhausted. Then I would have to go to the chair." He played with my hair as he spoke.

I turned on my side to get a good look at him. "If you went in the chair with the needles how did you have the ability to use your powers? I thought that liquid that they put into is blocks out our powers." I gave him a puzzled look.

"Well that's what I thought but that liquid is designed to make you stronger and indestructible. The shot that they Gave you to put you in that chair is what blocked your powers. I don't think they knew what it was actually doing to you. One day I heard them talking about some girl not responding to the liquid. They couldn't figure out why she wasn't using her powers. They were a bit disappointed when the girl who has the power to destroy the world couldn't use her powers. They were fascinated about you, you were the only thing on their minds besides the other kids that they had to keep under control and brain washed."

" I don't really think I have the power to destroy the world. I mean yeah I'm pretty strong and everything and so is my powers but not enough to destroy the whole entire world." Bolt just laughed at me but stopped and smiled. "Why are you laughing at me? I'm being serious."

"I know you are but the way you say it is kinda funny."

"So are you telling me I talk funny?" I have him a playful but yet warning look.

"I um...no...yes...oh damn it I didn't mean to make it sound mean." Now it was my turn to laugh. He looked so funny, scrambling for his words and just looking uncomfortable.

Once I calmed down I wiped away the tears from laughing to hard away and looked at him. He was looking at me in a strange but yet nice way. "Why are you looking at me that way?"

"Cause you're beautiful." I laid there shocked. I was not expecting that to be his answer. I was expected him to say cause you look funny or you have something on your face. But nope it had to be that answer. "Thanks." That's all I could say and I was now turning red.
"Why are you turning the color of a tomato?"

I just looked at him. "Can you just shut up."

"Nope. No can do princess." I shook my head and laid back down on my back so I could look at the sky. After awhile bolt did the same thing.

After about 10 minutes of thinking about what he said. A question popped into my head.
"How did you get out?"

He didn't answer right away but after a few minutes he finally spoke. "One day they overdosed me on the liquid. The next day I felt stronger than I have ever felt. So I decided it was time to actually get out of that hell hole. I electrocuted most of the guards before they gave me the shot to make me unaware of my surroundings. I blasted the rest with lighting, rain, and wind. I was going past the room with the chair and I saw you in there. I just thought to myself that I jut had to get you out of there. You looked lifeless and I just couldn't leave you there but I didn't have a choice. The guards were catching up to me and I just had to run for the exit. A day after I got out I ran into Breezy and the others. I stayed with them for a few weeks and I learned who everyone is and their personalities. But I just couldn't stop thinking about you being in that chair so lifeless. I asked them if they could help me with something and obviously they said yes because here you are now."

"Wow that goes above and beyond my question. Thank you."

"What for? All I did was save your life." He gave out a light chuckle. I leaned over and kissed his cheek. I went back to laying down and looking at the sky. I looked over at bolt to see him looking kinda shock and all I could do was just laugh.

I stood up and held out my hands to help him up. "Come on I think we should start making breakfast for everyone. It's already 6 and everyone will be getting up in an hour." He nodded his head and grabbed my hands, but he didn't pull himself up he did the complete opposite. Before I knew it I was on the ground again with him on top of me.

"What are you d-" before I could answer he crashed his lips to mine.
