4x01 part 8 - Shot a man

Casey ducked and ran to the firehouse. Leaning against the wall he slide down and tried to calm his racing heart.

"Casey! You all right?" Herman said as Casey ran inside. "You didn't fire did you?"

"Oh yes!" Casey said as he peaked out. "I have a murder case looming over me and I shot a man!? Really" He panted. "All clear?" Herman peaked out:

"I see nothing." Herman said and gave Casey a hand as he stood up. "Now since you're not dying and this was probably just a another Chicago Friday night, please explain why you are expecting a child with your ex fiancé?" Herman said as they walked back inside.

"Hold up?" Cruz said and backed a couple steps till he was face to face with them. He had been walking by and over heard the conversation. "You are the father of Dawsosn baby? Damn I owe Otis twenty bucks."

"Yes, Dawson and I are expecting, it's not that big of a deal!" Casey said as he sat down on one of the chair and leaned back. Truck 81 then began to loom over him, along with Cruz. Severide walked by and saw that something was going on and he walked in and took a seat at the other end of the table. Cruz slammed a twenty into Otis hand.

"So...?" Mouch said and motioned with his hands. "You guys going to take it back to the chapel or...?

"No." Casey said and stood up. "Now please stop with all these questions and let me sl..."

Truck 81, ambulance 61, squad 3, two car accident, Western road.

"Looks like your stuck with us for a little while more lieutenant." Herman said and patted Caseys back. Casey rolled his eyes and filled out.

81 was first to the seen.As they pulled up they saw a car was overturned and the other was slammed into the lamppost. Casey imedatly reconised the car that was slammed into the lamppost. He jumped out and ran out to the car. 61 pulled in and Brett ran fast out of the car. While he was runing Casey called out:

"Gabby!"

Gabby ran from the other car where she had been putting pressure on the woman's head wound. Matt ran twords her and gave her a bone crushing hug. She sighed of relief and inhaled his sent. He let her go and inspected her.

" I'm fine Matt." She said and held out her arms. "I wasn't in the car. I felt sick and went outside. Then they just rammed into the car. Driver DOA, passenger alert but she is losing blood quickly." She briefed Chili and Brett who ran to the car.

"You sure you're okay?" Casey said and put his helmet on as squad 3 pulled up.

"I'm fine!" She said and pushed him away. "Now go save a life." Casey turned around and stopped being a protective boyfriend and became the macho/hot lieutenant he was. Just as he was about to make an order Dawsons car flew up in flames.

"Herman, Mouch get some CO2 on that flame. Otis your with me." Casey motioned for Severide to take the lead.

"Capp, Tony get the cutters, Cruz get chunks we need to stabilize the car." Severide spat out and jogged words the car. "How bad?" He asked Chili.

"She has a nasty cut to her head. Her legs are pinned in. We need to get her out quick." She replied. Brett ran up with a collar.

"Otis help with the gurney." Casey said. "I think that Herman could wiggle in here and free her legs. Then we need to cut out the door." Severide nodded.

"Capp, Tony help Cruz stabilize. Hand me the cutters." Severide ordered. Casey turned around and yelled;

"Herman get over here. Take the gurney from Otis, otis get on the car fire."

Herman ran over. "What's up lieutenant?" He asked as he nealt down.

"I need you to climb in and loosen her legs." Herman nodded and took of his hat. He squeezed past the front seat.

"'Ey lieutenant. I'm going to need a wrench to unscrew this." Severide nodded:

"Capp get the wrench." Capp nodded and jogged of.

"Ma'am we are going to place this collar on you and we need you to remain very still, you might have a spine injury. The firefighters are going to get you out of the car." Brett said and slipped the collar on. The woman made a feeble attempt to nod but that is hard with a collar on.

"Ma'am, we are going to keep you posted on what is going on. My name is Christopher. I'm going to loosen your feet. Then Matt and Kelly." They both gave a small wave at there name. "They are going to remove the door and then lower you down." The woman nodded. "Alright!" Herman began to loosen the car. Once it was loose enough he gave a thumbs up. Severide and Capp began to use the cutters and the halligan to loosen the door. They then took the door of its hinges and Herman unbuckled the lady. Casey and Sveride along with Capp lowered her down slowly with the gudience of Chili. The lady was then loaded into the ambo and rushed to Chicago med. Casey walked over to Gabby. She sat on the curb with her head in her hands. Groaning she raises her head as Matt comes closer.

"Hey." Casey says as he say down next to her and wrapped his arm around her shivering frame. Gabbys morning sickness came usually at night. She doubled over and gagged.

"I know you're trying to be really super sweet but the smell of you... its not helping my case" Gabby said and pushed him away. Casey stood up and backed away.

"Lieutenant." Herman called and walked twords them. Acknowledging Dawson he reported "We got the man out. The trucks are on their way to pull the cars. We can give you a ride home." He helped Dawson stand up.

"That would be great. But can we drive with the windows down?" Dawson asked and cradled her stomach. "You guys all smell so bad." Herman chuckled.

"Pregnant women, have fun Casey." He patted Caseys back and walked of. Casey stood there and looked at Gabby.

"You have no idea how scared I was when I saw your car." He said and looked at her lovingly. "And how bad I want to kiss you right now." Gabby walked up to Matt and placed a kiss square on his mouth. Matt was shocked at first but then he smiled and leaned into the kiss. The whole house 51 cheered them on. Some might call that creepy but, that's what you need to know about firehouse 51, once you are on the inside you are family, and family means we cheer at the wrong time. But we make it seem like the right time.
