CHAPTER 13:

Caleb and I were still in bed even though we had slept for fourteen long hours. "Caleb?"

"Yeah babe?"

"Can we live by the beach in a cute little cottage?" I asked a small smile spreading across my face.

Caleb just laughed. "Sure Charlie. We can live wherever you want."

"Yay," I said with a grin on my face.

Caleb laughed at me. "Oh Charlie, I love you."

"I love you too. Now I know that we have to be in court tomorrow morning, but my parents already have a New Year's Eve party planned and you can just stay with me."

"I don't know Carlie-"

I didn't let him finish before I started begging, "Oh please, please, please. My mom already got me a dress and you can just wear khakis and a drass shirt. Then you can just bring a tie for tomorrow. Please, it'll be fun."

Caleb sighed before he gave in. "Oh fine, but only because I want to see you in that dress."

"Yay, thank you!Thank you, thank you!" I said hugging Caleb tightly.

I dropped Caleb off at the hospital so he could take his tests and I could shower and clean my room. It's amazing how quickly he's recovered from the accident. My arm is still in its cast and Caleb was down to just the cast on his leg, which will be in a boot in a week or so. Caleb was sitting in my room while I finished getting ready. I haven't seen him since I dropped him off at the hospital, but he had told me he was in my room when he came in.

The dress my mom had gotten me was a soft lavender with a sweetheart neklin, but it wasn't super formal. I left my hair natural and just pulled it half up. I looked in the mirror one last time, not completely satisfied with how I look, but I just sighed and walked into my bedroom.

Caleb wasn't in my bedroom and I would have wondered why, but I could hear the music and realized that everyone was downstairs. I got down to where everyone was and greeted peopleas I made my way through the house. I asked my parents, but they just asked if I had checked outside.

The gazebo was lit up, but I didn't see anyone. I was walking towards the gazebo when Caleb came up behind me and scooped me up in his arms. I was giggling at him, but then I remembered that he should be on crutches. When he set me down in the gazebo I was about to ask about his leg when I noticed it was already in a boot.

"I thought you weren't supposed to get the cast off for another week?"

"Well the nurse was rather sympathetic when I told her that I wanted to dance with my lovely fiance tonight," he smirked.

"Hmm. I like her already," I laughed. "I've been looking for you."

"Really? Because I've been looking for you." Caleb smirked at me and I rolled my eyes at him playfully. "I talked to your parents, Charlie."

"Uhm okay? What about?"

"Charlie. I asked them for permission to marry you after we graduate..." His voice trailed off and I could feel my eyes getting heavy with terars.

"What did they say?" I asked gently biting my bottom lip afraid of what they said.

"They were reluctant at first... They asked a lot of questions like why I want to marry you. I simply told them that after everything we've been through that I couldn't imagine spending my life without you in it."

I couldn't think of anything good enough to say to Caleb. I felt the tears roll down my face before I kissed Caleb. I whispered, "I love you," against his lips.
