CHAPTER 15:
I was holding Caleb's hand and was about to open the door to school, but I hesitated. I couldn't do it.
"Sweetie, what's wrong?" he asked.
"I'm terrified. Everyone knows what happened and they all think I'm a whore," I said letting my head fall a little.
Caleb put his hand under my chin gently and said, "Honey, they don't think that. Even if they do you don't need to listen to them because it's not true."
Caleb kissed my forehead, opened the door, and we walked in. Everyone was staring at us, but Caleb just walked me to my class. "Do you have to go?" I asked.
"Yeah, I do, but hey I promise I'll be back as soon as the bell rings. I promise."
"Okay. I'm just worried about you."
"I'll be fine Charlie." Caleb kissed my forehead and had to get to class before he was late.
Caleb walked me to all of my classes and we had lunch together. We ate with Robin and Nate and tried to keep to ourselves, but that's too much to ask for. Everyone kept coming over to talk to Caleb and a few asked me about my cast.
Caleb and I aren't allowed to practice sadly. We've both been prohibited from playing for the rest of the year, the rest of senior year. This sucks, but we went back to Caleb's house after school.
"How do you do it?" I asked as we walked in the front door of Caleb's house.
"Do what?" he asked.
"People ask you the same questions over and over again and dig into your personal business and you never seem to get tired or annoyed with them. You just answer their questions with a smile. How do you do it?"
"Oh come on babe. I don't know. I just do. You know a lot of them asked how you were holding up and I never mind answering questions about you." Caleb wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my forehead. "Everything will settle down. Don't worry," he said.
My phone started ringing and when I answered Robin was hysterical. My body tensed and I guess Caleb could tell because he started to gently rub circles on the top of my hand. I immediately relaxed a little and spoke to Robin.
"Robin, calm down and tell me what's wrong."
"N-Nate was just here and h-he dumped me." Robin started to cry harder after she admitted that to me.
I tried to calm Robin down and I asked her if she wanted me to come over, but she just wanted to be alone. Robin never likes to be alone. When she hung up I sighed and looked at Caleb.
"What's wrong with Robin?" he asked.
"Nate broke up with her today. I know something's up though. Can we go talk to him?"
"How do you know that something is going on?" he asked.
"Nate told me that he wanted to propose when I talked to him on New Year's. I told him to be careful and just make sure that he thought that they were both ready."
Caleb nodded his head and we drove to Nate's house, but when we got there some girl who looked oddly familiar was leaving, so we circled the block and pulled into the driveway.
When Nate opened the door I walked right into his living room and sat down. Caleb and Nate followed after me and sat down in the two chairs opposite each other.
"You know Robin called me in a fit of hysteria. She doesn't want to be with anyone, not even me." I gave Nate an ice cold look and wouldn't back down.
