CHAPTER 16:
When I woke up it was a little after one in the morning and I was hot. My temperature had gone down and I ditched some of my blankets. I couldn't sleep, though, because I'd been asleep since 6:30, so I got out one of my journals and grabbed a pen.
I made a checklist in the front of everything that needed to be planned. I pulled out my computer and started printing off pictures for each item on my checklist. They all got their own page and when I was done I was really happy with how everything looked. After I put everything away I was able to drift back off to sleep.
Caleb drove me home from school today and when he brought up planning the wedding I showed him what I had done this morning.
"This is amazing Charlie. When did you have time to do this?" he asked.
"Like one o'clock this morning," I laugh. "It's no big deal though. Nothing is set in stone."
"Oh come on Charlie. You're amazing at this. You can plan the wedding if you want. Hell you could become a wedding planner," he smirked.
"Well thanks. I'll think about it."
Caleb kissed my forehead and we went up to my bedroom so we could do homework. Even though the homework I have is stupid and barely counts as homework. I finished my homework quickly and laid down next to Caleb on my bed where he was doing his homework.
"Caleb? How do you know that you love me?" I asked kind of absent mindfully.
"You realize that you love someone when you go from enjoying their company to not being able to stand being away from them. Their mood affects yours and seeing them smile can turn any day around. You would do anything to make them happy. You can't seem to take your eyes off of them, not that you want to, and when you think of them you get butterflies in your stomach. You see them and all you want is to feel their lips against yours. You want to spend every waking moment with them and when you're with them it's like nothing else in the world is even happening. I knew I loved you when I realized that my whole world revolves around you," he said wrapping an arm around my shoulders and lightly kissing my temple.
"Caleb, I-I don't know what to say.... I love you so much."
"I love you too honey."
Caleb had to go home after a while to study for a test he had tomorrow. I had nothing better to do so I started looking at venues for the wedding. I found a vineyard that had a beautiful gazebo that overlooked a lake with the rows of grapes behind it. It would be the perfect spot for the ceremony and there had been a few weddings there before. When I called I learned that there's a larger pavilion across the lake that we could have the reception at so I told them that I would call them back after speaking to my parents and fiancé.
I took my laptop downstairs to show my parents the venue. I told them that Caleb and I both wanted a small wedding and that I would plan it. They liked the venue and told me to go ahead and call back to get some more details.
When I went back upstairs to my bedroom I saved the page to my favorites and printed out a rather large picture of the venue. I pasted it on the page that I had reserved for the venue and then opened a word document. I started a rough draft of the guest list. Of course Robin, Nate, my family, and Caleb's family will be there, but I'll have to talk to Caleb about his family and friends. I saved the document and went on to bed since it was getting late..
Over the week I picked out my bouquet and the center pieces for the table, even though I didn't know how many we would need. For my bouquet I picked out powder blue hydrangeas. The bridesmaids would wear dresses in the powder blue and carry a small bouquet of white roses. The center pieces were simple yet elegant with a single blue hydrangea at the top surrounded by white roses. I managed to snag a bridal appointment, at my favorite bridal shop that happens to be by the coast. There was a cancellation so they were able to get me and my bridesmaids in for a week from Saturday.
