New Years in New York ~ Anything is Possible

Aye! I'm back!! Well for just this one more part... Maybe XD did anyone miss this story? *cricket* yeah... Reading this story myself, I can tell how much I've evolved as a writer.... Agree? Disagree? *cricket* Well, I've decided to add a better ending to this story. I know, I wait months to add a better ending. Oh well. So here it is. December 31, 1988 ~ 5:00am
Michael's POV
My alarm went off. It's 5 in the morning. Ohhhh I'm so tired. We partied too hard yesterday. At least María had a great birthday. As I was about to go back to sleep, I just remembered that today we're going to New York. I sat up and shook María gently to wake up.
María: "Mmm.. Oh, good morning honey", she said sleepily and sat up
Michael: "good morning baby", I said and kissed her gently, "Now, are you wondering why I woke you up so early?"
María: "Actually, yes"
Michael: "Well, because... Don't you remember my surprise a few days ago?"
María: "Um... The one about going to New York on New Years Eve?"
Michael: "Yep", I said with a smile, "Come on, let's get ready to go", I said as I got up and went to the bathroom. A few minutes later, I finished with my shower and got dressed as María went into the bathroom. A few minutes, María finished taking a shower and came out all dressed. I was already dressed when she came out. Then we both went to wake up Alex and Michelle.
I went to get Alex ready and María went to get Michelle ready. As María and I finished giving Alex and Michelle there bath, we got them all dressed, and ate breakfast. At 5:30am, we got our bags and went out the door. Bill was waiting for us in front.
Bill: "Good morning guys", he said coming over to us and taking our bags, "Where you off too today?"
Michael and María: "Morning Bill"
Michael: "and we're going to New York", I said as I opened the door for María. María smiled and got in with Michelle and I got in with Alex and closed the door. Bill closed the trunk and got in and stated driving to the airport.
Bill: "That's awesome. Anything special you're going to do there?"
Michael: "Well, we want Alex and Michelle to know about New York. And I may be performing there for 1 or 2 days"
Bill: "Well that sounds fun. Hope you guys have a great time", Bill said with a smile.
Michael: "Thanks Bill", I said with a smile.
María: "Thank you Bill", she said and smiled and looked down at Michelle on her lap, who was asleep. I put my free arm around María and pulled her close with her head on my shoulder.
Michael: "You okay?", I whispered to her.
María: "Yeah. Are you okay?", she whispered back and sat up.
Michael: "Yeah", I smiled. Then Alex started to wake up.
Alex: "Hi Mommy. Hi Daddy", he said sleepily and sat up and then put his head on my chest.
María: "Hi Alex", she smiled.
Michael: "Hey Alex", I smiled.
Alex: "Where are we going?"
Michael: "Well, you remember the surprise?"
Alex: "Um... No", he said with a shrug.
Michael: "Heh heh, well, I told you guys that we're going to New York for New Year's Eve. Remember?"
Alex: "Oh yeah", he smiled. Then Michelle had woken up.
Michael: "Hey, look who just woke up", I smiled.
Michelle: "Hi", she said softly.
María: "Hi mi amor", she whispered.
Michael: "Hi sweetheart", I whispered.
Michelle: "Momma? Daddy?", she said in a soft-tone voice as she looked up at us.
María: "Yes mi amor?", she said softly and looked at Michelle.
Michael: "Yes babygirl?", I said softly and looked at Michelle also.
Michelle: "Where are we going?"
Michael: "Well, we're off to the airport. We're going to New York"
Michelle: "Oh", she said softly as she rested her head on María's chest.

~At the airport~ 5:55am
As we arrived to the airport, we all got out and Bill gave us our bags. We waved goodbye and Bill drove off. I put Alex down and he put on his backpack and took his suitcase. María put on Michelle's backpack since Michelle was fast asleep. I covered her up with a blanket and put a mask on Alex and we headed inside. Maria had her hoodie on and I took off my fedora and put on my hoodie. We headed to the check-in and got our boarding passes, went through security, and went to our gate. We had a few minutes left so we just sat down by the window and waited to get on the plane. I saw Michelle had woken up again.
Michael: "Hey Michelle", I whispered to her, "Ready to go to New York?"
Michelle: "No", she whispered and laid her head on Maria's chest.
Michael: "Why not Michelle?"
Michelle: "I'm scared to go on plane", she said and put the blanket over her head.
María: "Michelle, there's nothing to be afraid of", she whispered to her as she gently took the blanket off from her head, "Nothing's going to happen"
Michael: "Yeah Michelle. Mommy and I are here, you're not here alone. And it's normal to be afraid"
María: "Michelle, do you want to know who else is afraid of going on planes?", she whispered to her.
Michelle: "Um.... Daddy? You?", she whispered.
María: "Daddy"
Michael: "What? Who me? No way", I said with a chuckle, "Alright, alright, it's true", I laughed, "But you know what, it's normal to be scared because we're only Human and it's also good to try new things"
María: "Daddy's right. And even though it's both, you and Alex's first time flying, you guys aren't alone"
Michael: "Yeah, we're here with you guys. I remember when I was young and I was afraid to go on the plane, my Father never said to me; 'Michael, it's going to be okay', all he did was yell and made me go on the plane. I'm never going to be like that"
Alex: "I love you Daddy", he said looking up at me.
Michael: "I love you more Alex", I said hugging him and kissing him on the forehead. Then the flight attendant went on the speaker.
Flight Attendant: "Attention passengers. Flight 262 to New York City is now boarding", she said through the microphone. I got up with Alex in my arms and got my suitcase, Maria got up with Michelle in her arms while carrying Michelle's bookbag and getting her suitcase.
María: "Are you ready to go on, Michelle?", she whispered to her as we got in line.
Michelle: "N--No", she said through tears as she covered herself up with the blanket.
Michael: "Oh it's okay, babygirl", I whispered to her. Then we got to the front of the line, the lady our boarding passes, and then went inside. There were 2 seats on each side of the plane. I put my suitcase and Alex's suitcase up where all the other bags were and I helped Maria put hers away. Maria and Michelle sat on the left side of the plane, with Michelle by the window and buckled her up and buckled up herself, and Alex and I sat on the right side of the plane, with Alex by the window and buckled him up and I buckled up.

María's POV
As we got on the plane, we put our suitcases away and sat in our seats. Just a few more minutes until departure. I looked over at Michelle, who was looking up, out the window and holding on to her blanket tightly.
María: "Hey Michelle, you okay?", I whispered to her.
Michelle: "No", she said starting to cry.
María: "Ohh, it's okay Michelle", I said as I  gently took the blanket and covered her up, "Everything's going to be alright", I whispered.
Michelle: "Really?", she whispered and looked up at me.
María: "Yes, for sure", I whispered back to her.
Michelle: "Momma?", she whispered again.
María: "Yes mi amor?", I whispered to her.
Michelle: "May I have my Goofy please?", she asked and smiled.
María: "Of course", I smiled and got her Goofy from her bookbag and gave it to her.
Michelle: "Thank you Momma", she said taking it gently and holding it tightly.
María: "You're welcome sweetheart", I said and kissed her on the forehead.

Michael's POV
Pilot: "Good morning passengers. This is Rafael Coraño speaking and I will be your pilot for this flight to New York City. Just sit back, relax, and prepare for take-off", the pilot said from the intercom. The plane started to move and I tightened my seatbelt and clutched on the handles.
María: "Michael, are you okay?", María whispered to me.
Michael: "Huh? Oh um.. Yeah yeah... I'm f-fine", I stuttered.
María: "Everything's okay, Michael", she said as she reached out and touched my hand. I took her hand gently in mine and kissed it gently. She smiled and I smiled back. I let go of her and she took her hand back. Then the plane started to take off, it went right in the air. After 10 feet off the ground. The pilot came on the speaker.
Pilot: "Hello passengers, we are on our way to New York. We will get there at about 1pm. Please relax and enjoy the flight and thank you for riding United Airlines", he said and then got off the speaker. I looked over at María and saw she had fallen asleep with Michelle, with Michelle's head on her lap.
Alex: "Daddy?", he whispered.
Michael: "Yes Alex?", I whispered back at him.
Alex: "May I please have my Mickey?"
Michael: "Sure Alex", I said as I got his Mickey from his bookbag and handed it to him.
Alex: "Thank you Daddy", he said taking it gently and hugging it tightly.
Michael: "You're welcome Alex", I said and kissed him on the forehead. Then I lifted up the arm rest that was between us and laid Alex down with his head on my lap and coerced him up with his blanket. I closed my eyes and fell fast asleep.

~7 hours later~ 1:00pm
Michael's POV
Alex: "Daddy. Daddy", Alex said shaking me as I woke up.
Michael: "Huh? What--what is it Alex?", I said sleepily.
Alex: "Look! Are we in New York now?", he asked as he pointed out the window. I looked over his shoulder, out the window and saw we were in New York. It looks so beautiful.
Michael: "Yes Alex, we are", I smiled at him, "isn't it beautiful?"
Alex: "Yeah", he smiled at me and then continued to look out the window. I got Alex's backpack and folded up his blanket and put it in his backpack and got out his coat.
Michael: "Here Alex, let's put your coat back on", I said helping him put it on.
Alex: "Why?", he asked as I zipped it up.
Michael: "You don't want to get sick, do you?", I said as I put my coat on and zipped it up.
Alex: "No", he nodded and took off his face mask and put on his hoodie. I looked over at María who was helping Michelle put her coat on and zipped it up. Michelle then put her hoodie on. Then María put her coat on and zipped it up. I reached for Michelle's bookbag underneath María's feet and took it. María noticed and looked at me and smiled.
Michael: "Just thought I'd help you since you already have to carry Michelle", I smiled.
María: "Well, thank you honey", she said with a smile.
Michael: "You're welcome sweetheart", I said with a smile. Then as the plane landed, and the pilot parked, everyone got up and got their luggage and stood waiting to go. María and I got up, I got our luggage and handed María her suitcase as she carried Michelle. Alex put on his backpack and I put on Michelle's.
Michael: "Now hold my hand, Alex", I said as I held his hand, "We don't want you getting lost"
Alex: "Okay Daddy", he said with a smile. Then we all boarded off the plane.

Hi everyone. Not really sure who reads this story. But I'll be writing in this story and taking a break on my other story; "It's For All Time" sorry. I just don't want to write in both cause I don't want anyone to get confused, I get confused myself. So, I'll try to update as soon as possible on this story. Don't worry, it'll get good... I promise. So I hope you enjoy this story as much as I enjoy writing it.
Oh yes and if anyone is wondering what María looks like, well... She kinda looks like Tatiana Thumbtzen or like Selena. You can imagine her like one of those two, I don't know... That's just how I imagine her. I'm talking to much sorry.
