Chapter 15: Uma and Joy

*Joy had gone over Uma's house to do there homework together and they sat down on the sofa where they found themselves each distracted by boys.*

Joy-"Do you think he likes me?"

Uma-"who?"

Joy-"Harry of course, who else?"

Uma-"nobody, but I think he may like you as a friend."

Joy-"Really?"(she said disappointed)

Uma-"Yeah but boys suck so who cares?!"

Joy-"oohh what did he do now?"

Uma-"He received a Love letter today and it wasn't from me so I crumbled the paper and throw on the ground."

Joy-"that's it? Your upset because Lucas got a Love letter? No offense but that's kind of stupid-"

Uma-"I'm not upset because of just that Joy! when I went to say sorry for over reacting about it, he opened his locker and it fell out and he had it. And after school he took me outside where his friends happened to be and he finally introduced me but not as his girlfriend, but as his friend! I just don't know what to do anymore Joy, we've been fighting a lot. And there silly arguments but they end up bigger then they should."

Joy-"I think you need to calm down Uma. Lucas loves you and I've never seen him look at anyone not even his ex girlfriend Raven the way he looks at you."

Uma-"really?" (she smiled)

Joy-"yeah, and you know what. I don't think Lucas would ever do anything to hurt you."

Uma-"I'm so glad I have you Joy. Your so amazing!"

Joy-"I know!"(she shakes her head and opens her arms for a hug and get one from Uma until they heard a noise from behind them and they turned around and saw Ms.Good with the groceries all over the floor. They laughed and then stopped))

Lucy-"sorry, I'll try to hurry and pick this up so you guys can be alone. (Uma walked over to her mom and helped her pick up the stuff) Your helping me?"

Uma-"yeah, I'm not a jerk."

Lucy-"that's right honey, you aren't.( she smiled so big. Uma helped her mom range the Bags into the kitchen and Joy just followed)
Your in a good mood. I never seen you this happy to see me with groceries before."

Uma-"I am in a good mood if you have n to know!"

Lucy-"Does it have to do with charming young boyfriend of your'? "

Uma-"Mom!" ( she said embarrassed)

Joy-"haha, aww. You know Ms.Good, Your daughter had been doing well in music class."

Lucy-"You know you can call me Lucy, and know, I didn't even know you could sing."(Uma looked down at the floor then she looked back up)

Joy-"well she's amazing. She might even be better then Raven."

Uma-"Oh come on, you don't have to lie to my mom. I'm not even close. You saw what she did today in class. It was amazing just not what he wanted for class."

Lucy-"Wait Raven! The girl with the stuck up mother who could care less about what her daughter is doing."

Joy-"Yup!"

Lucy-"uhh she's awful honey! If I know one thing, Your better then her daughter will ever be sweety. That's a fact."

Uma-"I don't know" (she looked down and frowned)

*At Lucas's house David called Lucas to see if everything was okay between Uma and him because he had felt responsible for Uma getting mad at him.*

David-"Hey Lucas, are you okay?"

Lucas-"well let's see, my girl basically thinks I'm a jerk. She found this love letter from a person in my locker. I called her my Friend instead of girlfriend in front of you guys and my ex best friend has been talking to her. And she hasn't spoken to me since school. I just, I can't lose her David."

David-"sorry man, I didn't mean to make things worse between you to. But if you like her that much, go to her. Show her you want to be in a relationship with her. Don't give up. She says she doesn't want to talk but that means she wants to talk.

Lucas-"Your right, I'm going to go see her." (he nodded his head and stood up)

David-"I'm always right"

Lucas-"haha, yeah well. Hey David." (he made a serious face)

David-"yeah?"

Lucas-"thank you."

Davis-"anytime man. Us teammates have to stick together in good or bad bad times."

Lucas-"Your right" (he heads towards the door.)

David-"now go get her."

Lucas-"okay, bye. By the way this was the most awkward conversation I ever had with you." (he hangs up the phone and ran out the door)

Ivy-"Lucas! Sweety can you come here!?(she got no response then she tried again)Lucas! This is serious!(she went up into his room to look for him. She opens his door) Lucas when I call you I usually would like an answ-er. Where on earth is this kid?!"

Lucy-"so Joy?!"

Joy-"yes Ms.Good?"

Lucy-"Are there any boys that you are interested in?"

Uma-"MOM!"(she said with a high pitched voiced)

Lucy-"What I'm just curious, you have Lucas and I don't hear anything about your boy toy?"

Joy-(Uma put her face in her hands) "Well there's this boy that I like but I'm not sure if he likes me back."

Lucy-"Well any boy would be lucky to have you Joy."

Joy-"Thanks Ms.G"

Lucy-"Anytime Joy."

Uma-"well this just got awkward, haha, and I have know idea why. Come on Joy we need to to finish our homework."

Joy-"yeah okay" (they both walked over to the living finally focused on there homework. About 20 minutes later there was a knock on the door.)

Uma-"I got it mom! Excuse me Joy, just one moment."

Joy-"yeah go ahead take your time."

Uma-(she opened the door and saw Lucas.) "Lucas?"

Lucas-"hey, Uma."(she stood surprised and took a deep breath)
